Nobody's Daughter[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobody%27s_Daughter#cite_note-nobodysdaughter-1) is the upcoming fourth studio album by Hole (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hole), tentatively set for release in 2010.[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobody%27s_Daughter#cite_note-2) Since its original planned release of February 2007, its release date has been postponed numerous times. On 16 October 2009, Love suggested the album was near completion, saying "the mixers booked and were just doing cello and some backups and were done next week." On 24 October 2009, Love announced that "2 songs are MIXED already!"[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobody%27s_Daughter#cite_note-3) Hole opened an official Facebook page and a new website promoting Nobody's Daughter on January 1, 2010.[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobody%27s_Daughter#cite_note-4)[6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobody%27s_Daughter#cite_note-5)

Wow... I did not see this one coming. The possibility for a band to get back together is always there, but I just never thought this would be the case for Hole. I'm not too much into their first album, but I did enjoy their second and third. So I'll be looking forward to see what will come out of Nobody's Daughter.

"Well did she make you cry
Make you break down
Shatter your illusions of love?
Is it over now? Do you know how
To pick up the pieces and go home?"

Courtney is being a biatch to her ex members at the moment so she doesn't deserve a retrospect!

But the band does :3

Cool... I can't wait to hear it. Hole was always far, far, superior to Nirvana IMO. Still, Kurt is idolized and Courtney is demonized... totally unfair.

Didn't this album leak a while ago? I think I remember hearing something about it...?

TRhalloween

Dave: Agreed.

Librarian: some demos were leaked a while ago but that was under her own name, now I think they've re-recorded them.

Even though Kurt pretty much wrote Live Through This?!

I have been waiting for new stuff from Courtney since I was in Uni more than 5 years ago, her last attempt at a solo album was awful, so I am so glad she's reformed Hole (even if it's not the original members!)

I also saw her play in the summer of 2007 in a tiny club in Shepherd's Bush... only 100 people able to go and I was right up the front. One of the best gigs I have ever been to! :D

I usually don't trust Wiki as my primary source, but I assume this is correct because it does agree with what I remember as the credits on the cd itself.

According to BMI's website, most of the songs credited officially to Hole were written just by Courtney Love and Eric Erlandson. "Doll Parts" was officially written only by Love and "I Think That I Would Die" was written by Erlandson, Love and Kat Bjelland. "Credit in the Straight World" is a Young Marble Giants cover.

There have been unsubstantiated rumors regarding Cobain's involvement in this record, from alleged instrumental and songwriting contributions, to claims that he effectively wrote the entire album.

IMO, then, unless actual proof of this comes out, this is just another case of what I spoke about in my first post. The legend is bigger than the man...

Really? I thought Courtney had even said it herself that they helped each other lyrically: he helped her on Live Through This and she helped him with In Utero... I might just be getting my wires crossed though, I haven't read either's bio since I was in Uni 5 years ago!! :o

Well I wouldn't doubt that they helped each-other lyrically... but let's not let it appear that he wrote it all by himself. That makes it sound like all credit goes to him; the man had talent, surely, but Courtney and her band-mates should get credit for their work too.

By the way, does anyone in here like Babes In Toyland as well? I think "Fontanelle" is a masterpiece of wild anger and pain... play it loud and any angst I have melts away!

Apologies then if I made come acorss that way, but I know there's a lot of sources out there who do write it that way!

And yeah I'm a big fan of Babes In Toyland, haven't listened to them in a very long time though! Kat Bjelland is an absolute legend!

Well the album leaked. My favourites would have to be Honey, For Once In Your Life, Letter to God, Loser Dust and Never Go Hungry. I think Someone Else's Bed should have been replaced with Car Crash.

The songs are great but I think she shouldn't have made such drastic changes to the songs that were leaked a while back and she should stop kidding herself and just release the album under Courtney love rather than Hole.

Cool :)

Yea it still feels surreal... I mean I've been listening to all her stuff non stop since January and then poof she's on stage for a bit live and then disappears... and I went with someone who didn't know her band it would have been fun to go with other people who were just as excited to see her :)

I need to wean myself off now cuz its like I'm obsessed!!! loll
