http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f176/illuminati30/one-ring.jpg

A ring worthy of any King or Queen
Hold out your hand, your soul it shall devour
From nowhere it came and entered our hearts
A bond so strong it will not part

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f176/illuminati30/gollum07.jpg

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f176/illuminati30/Q_DEADMARSHES_JPG.jpg

Surrender the power, you shall not behold
this is the saga legend has told
A candle can not save you from darkness inside
For such precious things you must hide

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f176/illuminati30/T_RIDDLES_JPG.jpg

Yet it is known what happens to those who pursue
The fate and the destiny awaiting you
the cracks and craters of mount doom
Come to rest in your firey tomb

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f176/illuminati30/P_RINGWRAITH_JPG.jpg

Hunters in the night always looking
Corrupt and blind we follow it's path
Lost, yet walked many times before
Those who have fallen we hear no more

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f176/illuminati30/mirkwood01.gif

Friends we once knew shall allie again
Wizards, elves and dwarfs alike
Yet in forests so black you must prevail
Where great webs are spun by a spiders tail

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f176/illuminati30/Warg_Riders_Jackdaw.jpg

Those who's hearts are as dark as the lord
Trolls and Goblins or an angry Warg
Deep underground and mountains so high
Pray for an eagle on who's wings you can fly

http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f176/illuminati30/the-hobbit-smaug.jpg

On the map a mountain, sitting alone
forced by a dragon to protect it's thrown
Legend tells of it's demise
A tiny hobbit, a golden cup surprise

Prophecies predict we shall return to these lands
Peter Jackson and New Line Cinema it's in your hands
The Hobbit The Movie Part 1 and 2
This we are sure, you can do!

Absolutely! :jmp:

I have read the book and I enjoyed it a lot, less 'epic' than the LotR, but still great. Though I ask myself, is it enough to fill two movies?

And I have read somewhere Peter Jackson won't be directing this one. :(
I still have high expectations.

Nice poem btw. :D :tmb:

The first movie will be the Hobbit, the second things that weren't detailed in the book but mentioned, like Gandalf driving Sauron out of Mirkwood, which should be bad-ass! :D

I saw 'em in theaters and it was awesome. Though I kinda wish I had read the books first; it would have been so much more special.

I'm actually glad I haven't read the book first, because I didn't notice stuff that was left out or altered. It was all new so I could enjoy them as objectively as possible. I think everyone who worked on the movies did a terrific job. The story is clear, the costumes are brilliant, the acting is great and the music..wow. I don't expect anything less from the Hobbit. I hope I won't be disappointed.

Especially sine Guillermo del Torro is doing the creatures and designs. :D

They're releasing this in two parts? Ugh! Why?! I hate that. Oh well. At least they won't have to cut as much content...

Very nice poem and I like the collection of pictures :D I had actually forgotten that this movie is coming out, but now I'm excited to go see it :D

Awesome :jmp: Does it have the same actors as Lord of the Rings for the overlapping characters?

silver_wolf

Yeah, Ian McKillin is Gandalf, Andy Serkis is Gollum, Hugo Weaving is Elrond, and Viggo Mortinson is Aragorn. Those are the only confirmed ones so far.

That's what I thought too - but apparently it's not the case anymore, they're just splitting the story of The Hobbit itself over two films! Which, while I would've loved to see the White Council's assault on Dol Guldur, is probably better for the Hobbit itself, since less content will be cut. :tmb:

Yes it is a huge burger (did you notice is has a pile of pickles atop it?). I'm going to give one to Guillermo del Toro if the movie turns out as good as I'm hoping.

Perhaps they are going to incorporate those things within the Hobbit's story so we see everything chronologically?

I can't wait.
I like your poem, by the way.

I think it was mentioned in LotR and also in the Appendixes, but not as a full story. Don't take my word for it, however, I haven't read them in a while.

That was my impression as well. I remembered it being mentioned, but didn't remember actually reading it. It's been quite awhile since I read the books though, and I only read The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, and the Silmarillion (I've seen other LotR-related books but haven't read them).

I am quite confident this can be made into two stories. I am glad it is, it means we get more content. Can't wait to see Ian Mckellen as Gandalf. I really admire him. There are going to be some really amazing scenes in this movie. Can't wait to return to the shire, see the scene with the trolls, returning to Rivendell. There will be many great scenes in this film, Mirkwood, the spiders, the dragon, the great battle. :jmp:

And Jedward as Fili and Kili LOL

This should be fun. :jmp:

Though if I had anything to do with it, I'd have chosen The Silmarillion - or at least one of the shorter tales from it, like The Children of Hurin - for making a movie of. That would far more EPIC than The Hobbit. :D

Yeah, perhaps not as popular though. Ideally, the saga should have started with the hobbit, but the Lord of the Rings novels are more popular. Imagine the hobbit had been made, and it had been unsuccessful, how many people would go and see Lord of the Rings?

how the heck could the Silmarillion be a movie? It covers such a huge time span.

They could pick a few of the more memorable stories and focus on those. I'm sure they'd have Glaurung in it if they did such a thing ^_^

You know I'll probably get thrashed for this but I've never really liked LOTR books or movies. Why post in this thread you ask... Because of my LOVE for my Hobbit book as opposed to my LOTR ones. Hopefully it's shorter than LOTR I can't always remember the story of those because I get tired half way through :(

Love2Raid

The book has parts that can be hard to get through. The movies however, you can for example watch an hour a day and finish one in three days. Maybe that will help keeping your attention to the story, and help you understand what is going on. :)

I'll have to try it. I must say my favourite is FOTR and ROTK :)

CASTING!!!

Based upon the descriptions, they should cast Simon Templeman as Smaug's voice. Also, I should be a hobbit extra so I get to meet him :p I'm short enough to be a Hobbit anyway, so they don't even have to waste money on special camera tricks :pi:

I love all three, but The Fellowship is my favourite. It just has the perfect balance between adventure, combat/action, humor, 'drama' and a bit of romance. :)

[ITARIL] FEMALE, A WOODLAND ELF, this character is one the Silvan Elves. The Silvan Elves are seen as more earthy and practical. Shorter than other elves, she is still quick and lithe and physically adept, being able to fight with both sword and bow. Showing promise as a fighter at a young age, ITARIL was chosen to train to become part of the Woodland King’s Guard. This is the only life she has ever expected to live, until she meets and secretly falls in love with a young ELF LORD. This role will require a wig and contact lenses to be worn. Some prosthetic make-up may also be required. LEAD. AGE: 17-27. ACCENT - STANDARD R.P.
WHUT? Sounds like they're casting a love interest for Legolas or something.
