So is there any songs you think should have been number 1 in your country's single chart but sadly never got quite that far? Post some songs here.
BTW, obviously a song that might have got number one in your country might not have in another so try and state which country chart it is. :)

OK, this is for the UK singles chart, there are probably some more but I can't think right now.

Some number 2's:
Flashdance... What a Feeling - Irene Cara (Seriously this is like one of the biggest farces ever :vlol:, how this song never got number 1 here but got number 1 in almost every other country including Japan, I'll never know. :S)
Alice Deejay - Better off Alone
Let's Hear It for the Boy - Deniece Williams
Chasing Pavements - Adele
Everytime We Touch - Cascada

Some others that never got past number 2:
Ke$ha - Tik Tok
Don't Stop Believin' - Journey
Ironic - Alanis Morissette
A Thousand Miles - Vanessa Carlton
Dirty Diana - Michael Jackson
Beat It - Michael Jackson
Fast Car - Tracey Chapman

This would've been number 1 if it wasn't for Xtina Gagulera

None of the songs I like ever reach #1. At least not over here.

Songs I like were #1 in the mid 90s. I remember Heaven For Everyone by Queen was #1. I was pretty happy to see it.

God Save the Queen - The Sex Pistols

No.2 in 1977 The year of the Queen's Jubilee. But my reckoning is that it did sell enough copies to hit no.1. Just goes to show how many people in Britain are anti-monarchy really.

Depends on where, in the UK Love Game was number 19. Paparazzi was number 4.

I don't care about charts, in fact, I kind of like that the songs I like haven't been massive charts successes.

What does it matter, as long as it's #1 to you.

Most of the stuff that's been number 1 over the past year has beaten more worthy songs to the top spot IMO.

Most of the ones listed where not No.1 in UK but elsewhere like USA.
