I don't know if there will ever be another TR movie (I do really want another one!) knowing that Angelina might not be interested in taking back Lara Croft role again since the last time was in 2003, do you really want her back? Also... do you think there will be another Tomb Raider movie in the near future? Time keeps passing by...
You will be happy to know there is another Tomb Raider movie in the works, with a younger Lara on her first adventure who is obviously not going to be played by Angelina Jolie. Perhaps reading some of the threads (http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showthread.php?t=152069) in the forum might be an idea. She is getting a bit old to be playing a young adventurer anyway. The new movie is supposedly coming out in 2012, date could change though. As far as we know they do not even have a script yet, although they have the story. The new movie was first announced back in Jan 2009, it might have changed producers recently.

Its a prequel, comes before the games, before Lara was a Tomb Raider, so not based on TRA. And Megan Fox was never asked in the first place, probably no one has yet. The last 2 times we knew who had been asked once they had signed up, probably we will this time as well.

Of course I'd want Angelina Jolie to be back. I don't want to be a prequel/reboot or anything, just a proper sequel to Cradle of Life. But that's probably not going to happen after all.
Thankfully, there will be no AJ in the next TR movie.

At least the majority of the world (maybe not of this forum but of the world) There were a vote in the official Tomb Raider site and the last time I checked before they changed it into a new vote Angelina was 40smt % against a CGI movie or another Actress. So I guess most people do want Agnelina. And about the age issue. Look at Angie in Salt trailer. She looks just like she did not say prettier in Tomb Raider 2!
If Angie wants to play Lara again. She will. And hopefully she will change the script to the better like she did in Wanted and Salt. (Her opinion matters alot these days. I've read both Wanted original script and Salt and Mr. and Mrs. Smith and her role has changed to the better because she demanded to bring scriptwritters to rewrite her part. and in Wanted she had Dean Georgaris from TRCOL!)
I can't see another Tomb Raider film being successful without her, tbh.

It's pratically sure now that Peyton List is not the new Lara Croft and Dan Lin is no longer attached to the new movie.
If my mole is right, The Warner and Ian Livingston want the return of Angelina Jolie for marketing reasons.
Personally, I always wanted the return of Angie.
Currently Angelina is more powerfull in Hollywood; she changed the script of "Salt" to her advantage.

I know who she is...in my country we use this phrase for someone who is supposed to be celebrity and someone who we don't like or who isn't so good and is trying to get to (play a role, sell more books, sing better song - for example). I wanted to say via this phrase, that popularity, sympathy, dramatic art and beauty of Megan Fox never supposed to be better than Jolies. In other words, Fox is so bad, that I'v never heard about her ;)
Of course I want Angie. The next best choice is Rhona Mitra. Both so kickass actresses <3

I would prefer someone else, but I'm not completely opposed to AJ, as long as she's got a good script and keeps her clothes on. She did a great job overall in both movies, she just needed better direction. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure directors will find her too old. :rolleyes:
Angelina was good, apart from the accent. But I would prefer some unknown young actress.
Big Hollywood names doesn't mean GOOD movie.

Yep, i want her back. She was perfect as Lara. Although the films may not have been true to the games (not my opinion, but from what i've read, that was the general feeling), you could never fault Angelina's performance as Lara.
I am kind insecure right now.I used to love her as Lara Croft;on Alexander's Temple at the second movie she was asbolutely brilliant(face,movements,outfit),but now I don't know.Of course I would love to see her once again,but seeing someone new wouldn't bother me at all.

I have said that before and I will say it again. I want Angie back. and now another thing. About the Accent. I have been in love with England and English since 1996 because of Lara been English and the spice girls been english. I love a British Accent and I cant tell if one speaks it of fakes it. Angelina Jolie had great accent in the films. Some words apart in the first movie on which she tried too hard. You couldn't tell if she wasnt born english.
Now I cant understand how someone who is from Greece or Mexico or Italy or Japan or from wherever has an opinion on the accent. You'd think that a movie that costs 100 million dollars doesnt take that seriusly enough?
Look for bad accents elsewhere. Angie spoke them perfect!

Don't mean to be harsh, but what difference does it make what we want? We'll be served what we'll be served. And Angelina is not coming back considering she herself declared so. Megan Fox is not coming either, another confirmed news. While it is a matter of salary (I can't imagine Angelina declining after being offered, let's say, 40 million), I doubt any studio that will have enough faith in Tomb Raider franchise will also want to throw enough money just to get Angelina back on board.

I recently reread an old interview saying how thankful shes been for the role because she is a different person thanx to it. I guess She would do it again but it would have to be smt really good.

She has also said she had already done it the way she wanted in Cradle of Life and didn't want to do it again. I say only a load of cash could change her mind and I doubt any studio wants to spend a lot when they're dealing with a franchise that is no longer so firm. It probably would give the movie great publicity and major drive, but could as well turn out to be a big disappointment.

Frankly, I want tos ee her again too - she was the is the only good thing in the movies and she was the only reason why they were so successful (well only the 1st one). With a good script this time around and her on board we will have a truly satisfying movie that will put TR back on the map.

erm... Emma Watson made the most not because she is influential but because they couldn't do HP without her. and we are talking about a billions franchise. I hated the HP movies but there are millions out there who love them films and the producers want to keep them happy by keeping the same cast. Why don't Tomb Raider producers see that?

They don't pay the actor they pay the character. and the people who watch these movies Harry Potter, Star Trek, Transformers, Batman, Superman, Xmen. Angelina Jolie would be great for Tomb Raider III. I've just finished watching TRII after a long time without seeing it and I must say I don't like it as much as the first, but still it's an amazing movie because of Angie's actions, moves and ways. She is the ultimate Lara Croft for the big screen, and frankly any other actress playing Lara won't draw as much attention and audiences as Angie would.
It would be totally amazing her coming back for TRIII and now is a great time for such a movie to be released! I need Tomb Raider back on the big screen, and Angie back as Lara! Though what makes me really sad is what has been reported back in 2004, her saying:
"I just don't feel like I need to do another one," the starlet told the World Entertainment News Network (by way of the Internet Movie Database). "I felt really happy with the last one. It was one we really wanted to do."

I really dont want her back, she made Lara like a robot and I hated that..and in the second movie it barely felt like Lara or TR.. the TR movies sucks in general :(

Well The origins movie is dead.
Who ever produces the movie it is still going to be a reboot, still an origin story, and Angelina is still going to be way too old for the role.

Well If they hadn’t already excluded her due to age I’d say sure, let Angelina play her. I’d like that. I wouldn’t mind a CG movie if it were done right. They could make films of all the games into CG movies and then carry on with new material. I think picking another actress at this point, unless she pretty much looks, sounds and acts exactly like Lara is a pretty fail idea. They use CG to make actors and actresses look older. Why not just make Angelina look YOUGER? Or is our culture just too vain to accept that idea? Surely it is easier to erase age lines than to add them? What‘s the big deal? *sighs*

Obvioulsly that I want Angelina!!! She's the only actress that can be Lara Croft in a movie! She's so determinate, so beautiful, so athletic, SHE'S THE BEST! Angie is the only Real Lara for me! Nobody can act like her in a TR Movie! When she acts in TR Movies, she really is Lara Croft, so I think she must be Lara in the next movie!

no. i think Angie did a decent job, but i won't miss her. in fact when it was announced that Angie was going to be Lara in the first movie, i felt a bit let down. there is no actress out there that is famous right now that i feel could do a good job at portraying Lara. for me to be impressed they would have to find a "unknown".

Hmm, i didn't really think she suited the roll of Lara at all, she doesnt seem good enough for the role.
I think one of the newer Tomb Raider models would do a better job than Angelina or Megan Fox. For example, didn`t Eidos have Alison Carroll to help create the motions of Lara when Eidos made Tomb Raider Underworld? They may not be actresses but I still think they would do a better job because they helped make to Tomb Raider games didn`t they?

All Alison did was promotional work to help advertise the game, which is all the official Lara model ever does, she is no where near a good enough actress to get the part of Lara in the next movie, and she is too short. Three people were used to motion capture Lara's movements in TRU, none of them were Alison. The actress chosen for the part does not need to be a gymnast, it is a movie not a gymnastics demonstration, the stunt double would be doing any fancy gymnastics, or they would use wires or some other trickery. You have to be an actress to get the part, or at least be someone who can act, all the past models are too old for the part, and Alison is too short, and not a good enough actress.
Oh, well never mind then.
