''It was an enormous privilege for me to make this movie'' : says Ang Lee.

Crounching Tiger, Hidden Dragon - it's ''kind of a dream of China that never existed''.

I think it's really great movie so - 9,5/10

So what do you think about this movie?

I'd give it a 7 or 8 out of 10. I like to watch a lot of Chinese movies so much of the movie wasn't that original to me. The only thing that sets it apart from the rest is its beautiful visuals.

Zhang Zi Yi is so GORGEOUS, isn't she? I just love her!

Edit: spelling

I just saw it on dvd. Wonderful movie. Terrific story.
I cried when he (forgot his name, the tao´st) finally said to his friend that he loves her, just before he died, and that he regretted that he spilled his life with learning self-control instead of following his heart.
The marvellous fighting scenes, like complex dances, the quick movements. Stunning! I thought of the Tibethan fighters in Tombraider, more of the ninjas in Noone Lives Forever 2.
Excellently filmed, great atmosphere, beautiful lights and shadows.

"She said he hates the name Gou. Who is Gou?" "Gou is her husband". (a man she was married to by her family)

When the girl stood on the bridge next to her true love, but she couldn't love him anymore because there was no free will and she wanted to free him of his pain so she jumped off, i cried again. Life can be hard.

I also loved the music score, this movie is good from A ~Z, not one dull moment, a perfect edit! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

*edit*: o yeah: rate it. 10 / 10 http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

This was my all-time favorite movie, until TR came out! I liked it so much the first time I saw it, that I went on my computer that night and downloaded as many pix as I could find. The costumes and scenery were amazing, and Chow Yun Fat does a great job at making the movie so intense. 10/10 http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/c-5.gif

But I thought she loves the old guy, not the stupid robber, so she kills herself ("..be true to yourself..", he's dead, no point in living)

although hero was good, CTHD offered SO much more in terms of story and plot and character development!

i absolutely love CTHD, it is a stunningly incredible film.

for my first year in college, i wrote a a HUGE paper on it and not to brag. got an amazing mark on it. it is such a spectacullar film.

if anyone wants to know anything about it, questions or comments, feel free to ask me.

in terms of the last post, DOES she kill herself?? well u have to remember the scene when her "robber" lover tells her the legend that if u jump off the bridge at Wudan mountain, ur wish will come true......remember?????

its such a deep and profound film.....so feel free to ask me about it, i analyzed it in so many ways i know practically everything.

I loved this movie, almost immediately. As the story evolves i got stronger and stronger attached to it, because, ... the intuitive way of telling, of showing the story, as it seems to take sideways but then surprises, the form obeys the story, like when a great storyteller really tickles your imagination, or like in a strong dream you'd have.
The actors are very involved and impressive.
I cried too (with Rosay ;) )

*edit: oops, rate it: 10 / 10 http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif
