Ah.. reading the old pages are making me sad :/ Core lost tombraider rather quickly. April 6th 2005 there is news about Core losing Lara, where it states that eighteen months before that (dating back to october 2003) crystal began their quest to rediscover Tomb Raider. :/

Oh well, old news and makes me a bit sad to read it all over again.

Its interesting isn't it? The sad thing is, it looks like the website had a new lease of life during development of Core's TR:AE. They opened a forum in mid 2005 and then late 2005 they had a new flashy design up...of course we all know what happened by now but it appears everything was gearing up towards a renewed campaign to put Core back on the map.

No, seriously.. I really dislike, or even hate the people who fired Core Design, and/or took Lara Croft from Core Design =[

Core Design created Lara Croft.. and then the 'publisher' just took it off them =[

Must've hurt really badly!!

Remote91- could you please be a bit nicer? o.O
He thought that you meant it was either Shelly Blonde or Jonell Elliot who did the vocals on the website.. Atleast, that's what I think he means..

TBH that website and the content in it was more about their "recent" games and i facepalmed his comment because he put Shelly Blonds name and she only appeared in the first Tomb Raider and not in a recent game which Core Made. thats why in the core website Jonnell Elliotts voice doesnt sound like Shelly Blonds cowgirlish accent(i always think Shelly Blonds voice sounds like a cowgirl)

Why doesn't someone put a bid in for the domain and try and bring the old nostalgia back? :p I would love to, but it would probably cost a fortune for the domain.

Your offer is too low.
Premium domain names typically sell for three or four-figure amounts, and sellers will simply not respond to a bid if it is too low. If you need help setting a price, you can request an expert Domain Appraisal. You are REQUIRED to enter a bid of at least 45 .
Unfortunately, your offer is too low and cannot be accepted. Please submit an offer above the seller's minimum bid threshold of 60 $US.

Sounds a bit sad but I don't have 39 to my name right now. However, I'd be happy to contribute a bit. :) Although, its probably worth thinking that the domain's starting bid is equivalent to that of a newly released game just about...not a bad buy really.

but then that would mean they would have to keep managing the website as well. now they are giving people a chance to buy it.

There's something I keep running in circles with in regards to the CORE ownership IP. Now suppose the original team decided they want the name back and decided to try buying it, would this mean they have to negotiate the separate game/franchise IP's that were developed under that house? Also considering how much Eidos has a death grip over all things TR, would that IP also be tied into the CORE Design ownership rights, hence why they're keeping the name to themselves?

KurtisLonely
03-02-10, 17:42
Eidos bought out Core Design, and their IP's.. to make sure they can not returns using that name.
