I'm guessing it follows the Origins story, and serves as a filler.

i think its someone we havnt met - maybe an entity. A lot of people think its kurtis

EDIT: oops misread that - i think its like the usual tomb raiders - and like phlip says acts as a filler because tr9 will be a long time coming.

My predictions:

I think it'll be 5 hours long (but advertised as 10).
I think it'll have some form of multi-player aspect to it - hence it being ok to sell as digital download (most people who'll want to play it will need to be online)

I think the Guardian of Light will be something completely new, but that it will be like the prologue story for TR9. To get us going.

Old faces in it? I don't think so (or maybe that's- I hope not :D)

Style of play - combat of some kind for the multi-player aspects, but also lots of talking / rpg elements of a kind.


Someone on another thread mentioned Tihocan being the Guardian of Light - which I think is a good idea, but I hope it isn't. And it would kinda be nice to have Kurtis updated and put in, but only if it's a true standalone game - and not connected to TR9.

Seriously though, my brain shut down and refuses to speculate until we get more info (hopefully next week) but it's great to read other people's predictions :D

As cool as that would be, I'm going to go with no, it isn't.

One-offs have never been my forte, but we'll see. Storyline is going to make or break it for me.

This is my pre-march9th theory <3<3<3

Ok so GOL is an awesome game that is just random and has nothing to do with the main title however is taking place in the same universe as the main tomb raider.

Basically you are lara croft, the young women lara croft, not a tomb raider just a young women possibly stranded somewhere and doing some awesome and new stuff.

and then the main game is totally tomb raider 9, taking place in the future and having no correlation with anything in the past timelines and is just old lara doing some tomb raiding with some damn fine moves and amazing environments.:)

thats my theory:)

BTW I hope the guardian of light is like some crazy tree monster looking thing:D

who is really freky and tricky and pulls his eyes out of his head and stuff, he is someone you have to trust but are not sure whether you should trust it. and in the end you help it...or leave it there, or kill it...something happens:)

this game represents the origins, and why the title tomb raider is nowhere to be found...???
if all of you would think and analyze...
the origins is where she is just a teenager lost in that so called island...
meaning to say, its a start of her first dangerous adventure...

now did you get what i mean...

she is not a tomb raider yet, but becoming to be one after this adventure...

are you a doctor yet if you are not finished the medicine course???
