Sorry if this has been discussed. I looked a bit and couldn't find anything.:) Ok, so I was looking at the screens and they remind me a lot of the overhead view Action RPG's out there.So do you think GoL could be an action RPG in the style of these games? Some examples being Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance, Fallout Brotherhood of Steel, Champions of Norrath, and X-men Legends.:D I think it would be pretty cool.:)

I'd have to guess that even though the game has an isometric view, i don't think it will be an RPG. It was mentioned that you compete in scores, and there are red crystals which can be seen on one of the screenshots, which backs this up.
I guess some RPG elements could come into it, but i would have to assume that this is simply going to be about scoring points, not character building.

I loved Baldur's Gate, so if GoL is in that style, I won't mind too much.
Id love it if it was RPG style, lately Ive played a load of RPG style games like Diablo, Champions of Norrath etc.

Does anybody remember Gauntlet Dark Legacy? It looks very similar to it, but with more updated graphics.

GoL looks like a PSP/DS/handheld game, imo. It looks interesting and I like the direction it is going.
It would be awesome for ~Tomb Raider to have RPG elements. Character building has always been a selling point for me. As for GoL, it looks simple. I doubt it has any RPG elements and I'm not sure how interesting it would be if it did.
Once you play three or four MMO/RPGs, they all start to look the same. In order to stand out, you have to put a unique spin on it. Assassin's Creed 2 never would have gotten away with the RPG elements if their game was about elves and rogues/generic fantasy themepark. Instead, it's about assassins, which at the time was obscure on the viral commercial market so it became a hit. Tomb Raider being the game that pioneered a lot of the action adventure elements as well as female gaming could take these elements and pull it off in the same fashion.
With GoL having a heavy focus on "this is not a Tomb Raider game, this is a Lara Croft game", perhaps they can separate the title enough to put more characters in Tomb Raider. Even though to most people they're a single entity.

What do you mean "to turn to action/RPG?" It the first game spin-off. It's not changing from anything. Whatever it is is what it was meant to be. :)

Why?:) I am curious.
This isn't a main game, so I don't see why it couldn't have some RPG elements. I think a leveling up system would be cool, buy new abilities with the points you get.:D
But I am not even sure if this will have any RPG elements, but I would say no if they wanted to incorporate some. It certainly would add something more to the game.:)

But I could see it, maybe like she gains powers of light or something (haha) and she can level up and get new powers with it. That'd be cool.

I just like the way all of you are being happy about this arcade and what's going on at the moment (GOL) But you still hope that TR9 definately will not look like this. All of you are just afraid that TR9 "could be" something like this....

This kind of reaction I think was expected considering Tomb Raider has always had a 3rd perspective camera and Lara before the VCI level in Chronicles and Legend always worked alone , I just hope this game will have easy controls and replay value and that they won't use the isometric camera system for TRIX or else Tomb Raider is really over for me .

They've already said this game is not the usual Tomb Raider, it's all about the replay value. :D

it looks good and fun to play, but its not the kind of style I want in the main series.

TR9 isn't going to look like GOL! TR9 is going to be a full next gen game, obviously going to look way better than a downloadable title like GOL! Also, like I've said in another thread, if fans like the ideas applied to GOL, then they might make them into TR9, which isn't bad or something to cry over! Fans should stop making assumptions about the game at this early stage, wait until you get your hands on and fully play the game or wait to see other fan reaction on the game!
GOL has actually shown me how judgmental us TR fans are, and I for one am heading into this game with an open mind! It looks great fun with multiplayer, and it's something completely new and fresh, something TR has never done before, and I can't wait! :D

Please read well what I've wrote.....I havent wrote something "against" GOL...I like it as well as you. I've wrote that majority of people are hoping that TR9 will not look like this or will not be the same genre like GoL.

I think it would be a nice idea to try out. I'd like to see how they would make it work with the Tomb Raider series.

well didnt it say there'll be a lot of enemies with tombs to explore to seperate the intense action? so yes it will be action-packed :)
it also said there'll be points for killing enemies
