It's most likely Keeley due to the fact that one of the fans met her a while ago after underworlds release and asked if she was going to continue voicing lara, and she seemed to think she was..or that she would be untill any further notice:)

I don't really mind, as long as she has an aristocratic British accent and a warm yet clear voice. A bit of spice wouldn't hurt.

I like Keeley a lot and if she is given back the role then i'm really glad but my true Lara voice actor love will always be Jonelle, She just was Lara's ideal voice for me. Cold, sarcastic and smart but with an edge of compassion and reason when it called for it!

Jonell is amazing, but if this is another 'Reboot', they may consider replacing Keely, although I adore her and she's my second favorite. :tmb:

It's probably going to be Keeley. It would be awesome if it wasn't though. I can't stand her voice. Not only is it way too soft and sweet for Lara, but I find it generally annoying. Hopefully the next game is Origins so Lara will be younger and require a new voice actress.
I don't like Minnie. I find her unoriginal.

Oooh yes, I loved her voice acting in the animated Tomb Raider series. Smart, sophisticated, cool and collected.
I like Keeley's voice for the most part, but she sounded awful when she had to scream or fell from a ledge in panick... it sounded like she had a frog in her throat... *ribbit* :D

Yes, I agree with this.
They need an actor to act out the emotions, not just someone who does the voice.
They need someone who actually takes it upon themselves to become the character, even if they are just standing in a booth.

But seriously, I'm sure an oscar-nominated actress can act like whatever character her script requires. I don't think Minnie Driver has an unoriginal voice box. She sounds like Minnie Driver. I'd recognise her voice anywhere. And she did a terrific job voicing Lara for the animated series.

im not to interested since its only an arcade game, and not a full TR game. i wouldnt mid KH, and i dont know if there are any reasons that she wouldnt do it, nor if they wouldnt want her to do it.

Voice and script are not the same thing. You can write a great aristocratic script, but the delivery can still be weak. Additionally, a person's voice can be weak without a comparison. It does not work for me because it lacks the fierce, unapologetic, and consistent delivery as her predecessors.

If they were able to get Minnie Driver to to a game that would be awesome but I'm happy with Keeley, she's a brilliant actress.
I like Keeley, but my main problem is having people we know portray Lara in a videogame. When Lara speaks I just think its that woman from Spooks and Ashes to Ashes talking. Just another nail in the coffin for atmosphere and a waste of cash.

I would like to have somone new but without see her (actress or who) face at all. I want to join the voice only with Lara and her look. When I saw Judith Gibbins face for the first time I thought she must be grandmother already :) Hear Lara's voice without see the face of the actress is more "realistic" for me.

Well they are using the the TRU engine so I guess there will be some acting involved whether it even be one cutscene. Or they could take the arcade route and just have a scroll at the start of the game with the story scrolling down it. And if memory serves me correct we are getting it in a comic type form.

I don't agree, she just has a soft voice, if her voice was weak it might imply that she can barely speek and it is very quiet. But her voice is actually "confident" for lack of a better word, the words just flow out naturally and she can achieve good expression through it. However I always picture lara with a deeper voice.
The best I have heard Keeley's voice was in anniversary and BTA/ LS. For me Keeley is the voice of lara, regardless of the fact that I imagine lara with a deep voice, keeley manages without it:)

I definitely agree, especially with the parts I put in bold :tmb: I'm not too happy with most of Lara's voice acting from the past few games. Overall Lara sounds over-exaggerated, like she's trying too hard to express her emotions. I prefer a more subtle approach. I honestly don't know how much of it is Keeley herself and how much of it is just that she's performing how she was asked to perform. There were good moments, like the TRA scene that larafan25 posted, or when she's talking to the Doppelganger in Lara's Shadow. I think if they focus more on that kind of attitude for Lara then Keeley can do it. I'd be fine if they got another voice actress too, though, as long as she can pull off the calm anger and doesn't exaggerate emotions for the audience :)

I haven't played that game so I just watched the intro cutscene on Youtube. Towards the beginning I was thinking maybe that could be a decent Lara voice, but after having seen the rest of the cutscene there's no way I could take her seriously now XD

Keeley has done a fine job without doubt. I personally prefer Judith Gibbins' voice for Lara Croft. Jonell had a sweet voice, a bit to sweet & youthful sounding for Lara Croft in my own opinion.:)

The article said "motion-comic" so I'm guessing that means animated cutscenes like a cartoon :)
At the risk of picking any old British actress for the sake of it, I think Helena Bonham Carter has the 'right' kind of voice for Lara. She has the right amount of 'poshness' to be believeable but it isn't over the top, she can be softly spoken when required but I think it is quite a strong voice to show the 'calm anger' that suits Lara's peronality without being shouty - as long as the scripts are good.

Cool. I didn't really mind if they kept her anyway. It wasn't her voice acting that was bad rather it was the script itself. Eric and Toby wrote the script I believe for the trilogy, who are both gone so we should see some "better" lines or "worse"...

my point is they're both idols of the gaming world and they dont get knocked off the gaming boat so easily ;)
Jonell will always be my favourite Lara, I absolutely love her portrayal of the character and it really suited Lara's appearance in the games. I'm not happy Keely's the one for GoL... oh well.
