This was probably asked before but what the heck

Since Crystal Dynamics is staring a fresh start with TR, do you think maybe Crystal made this to kinda introduce us with Lara's new adventures, story, charaters etc.

It's been stated that it's in a different timeline. :wve:

No it hasn't! its been stated its a stand alone game not centred around the main series but given the setting its clearly after the time of TRU. No one said anything about a different timeline, CD are too ambiguous for that!

Since it's independent from the main series, as it has been clearly stated, TR9 being a part of the main series then no, it won't be linked to it.;)

It is not connected at all to the main games, so how did you work out it is after TRU? GOL is just a spin off game in a world of its own.

Creative director Daniel Neuburger, who's worked on Tomb Raider for over seven years, says this is not a reboot of the franchise. "This isn't a reboot of Tomb Raider at all because it really lives outside of Tomb Raider and that's why we call it 'Lara Croft,'" he explained. Source - 1UP

Eagle-eyed gamers will notice right away that the “Tomb Raider” moniker is nowhere to be found in the title of this new Lara Croft adventure. That’s no mistake, because Square Enix (now the parent company of TR’s long time publisher Eidos) wants to put some separation between Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light for XBLA and the rest of the continuing Tomb Raider series. Does that mean Lara Croft wont be appearing in Tomb Raider game anymore? Don’t be ridiculous. But they do want to separate it from the TR timeline, and let Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light stand on its own as a unique experience. Source - TeamXBox

There were plenty of other quotes and comments concerning GOL not being connected to the main games.

Once again you read too much into my post, I'm using Natural deduction, the game is set in Mexico, in an area that looks exactly like the jungle area from TRU, which I assume she would go back to after having explored there during TRU that's why I said 'given the setting'. I know its set outside of the other TR games... that's why I said it, see? But that just means it doesn't directly affect the TR continuity it doesn't mean it's set in a completely different timeline, it could just be surplus to the Tomb Raider stories.

Although Lara would be probably looking exactly like she did in Underworld without any change, they are both set in their own timelines :)

Now that you mention it, I really wouldn't be surprised if it was connected to TRO/TR9.

I hope it won't. If it's a new game, it should start with different storyline. Otherwise it could mess up things a bit. ;)

In classic CD style it probably will be. Prepare to see natla crates scattered throughout and hits for a TR 2 remake. :D
