View Full Version : Okay, okay. I admit defeat.
After many battles with many members (including the darlings over at Tech Support) I have finally come to terms with the fact that Kazaa and other such P2P networks have ravaged my computer beyond the point of return. Regardless of spyware programs, the P2P networks have installed countless amounts of **** on my PC, that have detoriated it to the point of no return. Not to mention have started attacking my browsers, including Mozilla which no longer works even after re-installing it.
I hang my head in shame (and for any whipping I may recieve by certain members) for my poor computer, which loved me, yet I treated it so badly.
Kazaa.... is..... bad. NOOOOOOOO! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/bash.gif

Nicky http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif Draco, amongst others, is going to have a field day when he sees this. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif
...and i thought you recently said your pc was dead. (shall i link?)
So it worked again, without you letting us know? You deserved this then. Let us whip you severely ! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif :D

Am I the only one to whom KaZaA never caused distress?
Oh, no, not the marmite effect again... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/c-1.gif
No, no its still dead. Well and truly. But I went over how I treated it with a PC professional and he was shocked. He was like "And it only just crashed the other day...?" He couldnt believe it hung on for so long. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
Give it time, SMSL. I was a loyal user for 5 years and look how it treated me. Give it time, and it will.
:D Oh i see.
But you are going to give it rebirth with new install of Windows then?
Hey, stop scaring me, or I'll steal ya a shoe! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/pillow.gif
Out of jokes, now, I have 3 anti spyware programs running on my PC. I confess I'm the noobest person you'll ever find, carrying a laptop as if I would actually know how to do anything else with it besides carrying, but my oldest sister knows a lot about PCs and says mine is safe. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif
She can be wrong, though... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/c-1.gif
I had three as well. It doesnt matter. For Kazaa to connect to the P2P file sharing network you are admitting anything, ANYTHING (including porn) onto your PC. Its a catch 22 if you want the music.
Im now using my laptop, which is a total virgin in the internet world, so Im not letting anything come near it and risk corrupting it.
Joseph, Im not sure if I deserve a second chance with my PC... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/bash.gif
*Sigh* My laptop lost its innocence a year and a half ago...
Poor pc no wonder it died on you
But a fresh install of windows will do it the world of good and then you can give your pc a big hug http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/hug.gif and say
"I promise never do do such fould deads to you ever again"
Or you might just get a black eye http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/bash.gif
Oh yes, it's definitely true that Kazaa just might be a computer's worst nightmare!! ;)
I don't use it at all....
Im getting a new PC in January so I might just give this one a nice funeral.
The real point is that I was wrong about p2p file sharing. Its evil. I only hope others will learn this lesson the easy way. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/pillow.gif
I'm warning you, I'm gonna steal you a shoe! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/pistol.gif
Steal me two. Size 8.
so cute. (http://www.ninewest.com.au/images/products/1436_Sisi/large_01.jpg)
Aaaaaaaaaaahhhhh! Got me! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/pistol.gif
I had KaZaa installed for exactly 589 seconds before I had to battle it for control of my machine. I won, but my registry was practically impossible after that. So I formatted and reinstalled.
Anyway, I would take great pleasure in giving you a spankin, you ebil girl you http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
That wasnt so bad. Id expected worse from you Eric. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif
A handy little antivirus/antispyware can be found for free at:
Where I work we use Norton antivirus which is updated via our network every week but when I ran Avast it still found 15 trojans/adware/spyware.
PC works much better now.

LMAO, what an adventure that must have been. :D Perhaps you should have searched for Whisk ;) http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Aww AE, don't be hurt http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/hug.gif It's just a joke, you don't really have egg on your face at all. If I thought you did, I wouldn't have made the joke. No reason to be embarrassed.
Don't believe him, I say! He's evil! Eeeeeeeevil! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/pillow.gif
Kappa, I'll shut up, now. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/silent.gif
*Holds little finger to corner of mouth
Me? Evil? Never! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif
What's this 'kappa' btw?
Oh, sorry, it's ok.
You see, here in Portugal, we often include ok in our speech, and we say it the English manner, like okay. But, if one reads o k in Portuguese, it's o (pronouced like in flop) kappa, because k is said kappa. So, I started to say okappa, and then kappa, just to be shorter, although we don't have k in portuguese words, nor words featuring 2 'p's on a row, but kappa is like my own way of saying ok. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
Ah I see. Thanks for the education http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif It's a bit like me confusing people by saying SOK (it'S OK) They sometimes think I mean Sock :D
But we should seriously think about copyrighting these things. Around here, some people close to me have also addopted the kappa and run around free, using it as if it was their own creation... Robbers...
All writers are thieves.

And from whom did you steal that from? http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif
[ 11. December 2004, 16:03: Message edited by: SMSL ]
LOL, I didn't steal it, I, er, I... just borrowed it :D
Always the same excuse. Even that you stole too! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
