Game On has turned up again slightly bigger and improved and of all places in Tasmania, Australia. Unfortunately they chose the wrong end of Tasmania so might not do so well, but still I would recommend the exhibition to any game fans able to get to Launceston. Not looking forward to 7 odd hours of travelling on buses I am going to try and convince someone to drive up. :)

I believe after the exhibition finishes in Launceston it will be moving to Greece.

Although I go up to the exhibition tomorrow I have just found out the Tomb Raider 1 artwork I would really like some decent photos of is not at this exhibition. It seems the Tomb Raider section of Game On 2 is all new stuff from the Crystal Dynamics games and some of Toby Gard's early concept sketches of Lara, probably the sketches we saw in the Tomb Raider art book.

The original Game On exhibition is still touring and is at the moment some where in Chile, it will be in South America for a while it seems. Are there any gaming fans in Chile who will be going to the exhibition and could get permission to take some photo's of the early design document and its artwork. Can anyone find the webpage for the exhibition because the Barbican website makes no mention of where the original exhibition is. If anyone could get some nice clear photo's (with no flash) it would really be appreciated, this is a part of Tomb Raider history we really should be preserving for all fans.

My best mate has been, and he took a photo of Lara for me, I should look for his pics, I have them somewhere

Any photo's of the Tomb Raider section at either exhibition would be nice, but the design document is the one I would really like good quality pictures of. The best so far can be found on the BlueSkies site (http://www.blueskiesxxv.com/TR.html). I have permission to take photo's tomorrow of the newer Game On 2 display, it was when asking for permission I realised they did not have the artwork from the first exhibition. I will still have a great time anyway, and will come back with photo's of what ever Tomb Raider stuff they do have.

These are some photo's others have taken from the original exhibition as it toured the world.

Thanks for the photo's Admles, they confirmed what I already suspected, the early Lara concept art are the ones Toby Gard kept when he left Core Design. They were recently published in the Tomb Raider art book.

Well since the topic is just so popular I will have to double post, sorry about that. Yes some 380km of travel and a great time playing games all day I did actually get something new for my collection, unfortunately the camera is not the best but here are some pictures. Several of us took photos so hopefully the others turned out better.

The TR8 concept art that was new, no idea who the artist was, they never thought to include the artists name.

They had both TRU (Xbox 360) and TR1(PS1) playable at the exhibition, there did not seem to be a lot of interest in them though. Perhaps if they had a memory card in the PS1 TR1 would have got more interest. Unfortunately there was a break in at the exhibition the night before I went and quite a few things had been damaged, we never had a chance to check out the virtualsphere, it was one of the casualties of the vandals.

I have to admit as an Uncharted fan I was impressed with the display for Uncharted 2, especially that collectors edition of the game they had on display. They had the game playable there as well.

hey that's really cool! i remember going to such a convention a few years ago, did they tour all over the world? i have a silly question, are these the original concept arts or they're copies of it? :p

Some at the exhibition are original, all the Crystal Dynamics stuff were digital prints, James Kenny's 2 pieces looked original. Most likely the Crystal Dynamics artists do not actually use pencil and paper these days, so the originals were probably digital anyway. The original Game On exhibition travelled all other the world and is still on tour, being in Chile at the moment. Game On 2 started in Launceston and goes to Greece next.

The shot of the Underworld exhibitions my favourite.
