As a part-time guitar teacher here is the advice I would give to one of my pupils.

</font> You play better than you think. You are nervous not because you are rubbish, but because you cannot play as well as you would like.</font> In the whole world of guitar players, you are not the worst and you are not the best.</font> Technical ability is not as important as feel.</font> You will learn a lot about your playing and yourself by doing the performance.</font>There is a lot more I could say but what it boil down to is this; do not give a stuff what anybody else thinks, enjoy yourself.
Best of luck. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Aha! Excellent advice from Paulie!
Keep repeating these 4 lines to yourself and everything will go just fine, danny. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

Paulie- Those are actually pretty good things to keep in mind, in general- it can be applied to loads of things obviously. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif Good advice!

Joseph- Can you memorise those lines? Good god! I'm cr@p at memorising stuff anyway but those are pretty long! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/clown.gif

Hi again Danny,

Just out of interest what type of piece is it you are going to play, is it a classical piece or something more contemporary. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

I know how you feel danny. I have performed in front of people myself and it can be a terrifying experience. But trust in what paulie says. You will likely be surprised at the praise you get. Don't forget, you have been asked to do this because you are good enough!
