View Full Version : Character Creation Shooter Uppers?
Ello, I'm trying to find some games where you can create your own character and play it as a shooting game. Preferably FPS. Preferably if you can create female characters. Male characters - I'd just keep playing Call of Duty if that's what I wanted.
I've read/seen some of a game called Oblivion? Is this a good choice?
Also Saints Row 2, I've seen you can create a character. They all look..Kind of ghetto though? Maybe? I'm thinking like Nina Williams only not her and not in a fighting game or a disappointing spin-off.
Oblivion is more of a swords & magic RPG, but it is first-person. It's not a bad game at all but I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for.
Saints Row 2 is very gang related and thus the characters you create fit more into that style. It's fun if you like the older Grand Theft Auto games.
I don't know many FPS games with character creation, unfortunately. As for others, if you enjoy games with RPG aspects as well as shooter aspects, I highly recommend Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2.
All I really know is Saints Row 2, which is essentially GTA but it has an awesome character creation system where you can create males and females. And Mass Effect 2. It's a futuristic third person shooter (i believe, I've never really played it) I do know for sure you can create male and female characters though. However it's an Xbox exlusive. Hope I helped :) Sorry but I dont really know of any first person shooters like that :o
There's Oblivion and Fallout 3, both awesome games in my opinion. They're first-person (also third-person) rpg style games. So you could have a look at those, and there are some forums you could look at to read about the games.
I can't believe Fallout 3 slipped my mind when there was a mention of Oblivion right there. Oops! I would also recommend that one. :)
Can you create a female character in Fallout 3? And is it first or third person?
Hmm I don't mind the RPG idea, and I don't mind the GTA gameplay of Saints Row 2. GTA3 was definitely the best in the series for me. ;)
Fallout 3 sounds good. Maybe I'm being lazy or tired of searching, but what platforms is it released on? I'm a PS3 gamer. I don't really plan on using my laptop for games other than the Sims 2 and Tomb Raider, of course.
I found this picture of what seems to be a character creation from Fallout 3. This is definitely something I'd be interested in - she looks killer!

Fallout 3 is on Xbox360, PS3 and PC. Though on PC there are TONS of mods, mods for guns, armor, clothes, buildings, everything.
Also, for some screenshots of Fallout 3 and Oblivion you can look here, to get an idea of the characters you can make and stuff, though a lot are using mods.

:yik: I'll have to check out Fallout 3 myself then, it looks pretty cool :D However I think those pictures are mods for the PC version, I could be wrong though.
Hmmm I am a big fan of mods. Sims 2 would mean nothing to me without mods. I might have to look into a PC copy.
I just had to get a mac :P
Fallout 3 is on PS3, 360, and PC, and is primarily first-person but the camera can be changed to third. :) Female characters can be made. Unfortunately that picture is of a modded PC version... the normal and console versions are a bit more basic than that. The game is also a bit taxing for laptop gaming, unless you have a very good laptop.
Here's a video of the default character creator - it shows the PC version but it's identical to the consoles.
:tmb:Maybe instead of Oblivion's fantasy set you should try Fallout 3 from the same Bethesda. Basically the same engine improved and an awesome character creation but in a retro-futuristic post apocalyptic Washington DC. It's open world with a huge explorable area, tons of post nuclear ruins and debris to explore. Also if you play on PC you can find thousands of mods to improve the experience, from retextures to complete new areas with quests. You can play both on 1st and 3rd person views, but not a pure FPS, more of a role-playing shooter. There is a prequel coming soon, Fallout New Vegas.
P.S. Geez! I'm such a slow typer! this post was supposed to come a bit earlier, but since the topic come to the same Fallout I can only highly recommend it
