Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a new car and I have no idea which one to choose between the 2 above.

I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with these brands and model and can give me some feedback into helping me make a decision.

The Fiesta I found is brand new, 2010 model, Diesel, and it costs 14100 EUR.

The Auris is an imports from either UK or Japan, Diesel and it costs approximately 12000 EUR. The model is 2007/2008.

Anyone got any thoughts and advice please?

I have no advice regarding these specific cars, but if you can spare the money, there are definite advantages to the newer car such as warranty.

Is there any particular reason why you are choosing between these two?

My experience with both brands has been positive with Toyota and negative with Ford.

Although I can't comment on the Fiesta since it is a new 2011 model car. You might do well to read a few reviews for it though. http://www.cars.com/ford/fiesta/2011/reviews/

Ford has been taking over lately. I love how Toyota has been trying to make up for their recent quality shortfalls with testimonial commercials.... "My Camry has 12 billion miles" etc... I'd go with the Ford.

Come on we both know that it was a conspiracy to get people to be more interested in Government Motors. All the quality shortfalls turned out to be operator error.

Even more ironic that Ford didn't take any money from the government and ended up ok... GM had been going down the tubes for years, we should have just let them fail.

Get a Ford. They are about as solid as ever now.

The Toyota looks better :) Dunno about performance, though. :o

I heard positives on both, and I just fell in love with the Fiesta when I saw it. But I wanted to consider all options before making a final decision, and a lot of people suggested Toyota. I''m not really fond of the Toyota looks but the Auris does not look bad.

I never heard any complaints on Ford to be honest. What I can tell you is to stay away from cars such as Peugeot and Citroen...and that's coming from personal experience. I can't wait till I get rid of my Saxo.

Toyota. Definitely Toyota. In my experience they're very reliable, compared to Fords. I've had both, not those models though. My current baby is a Toyota :p

I'd go with the Fiesta. They've always been brilliant little cars, and the new model seems even better than the last one. Plus, Top gear liked it. And its easier to buy a "native" car then import one- there's always gonna be problems with importing a car, especially if you drive on the other side of the road.
