A brief statement used to express a principle, goal, or ideal.
What is your motto?
What phrase do you try to live by?

I guess I live by whoever said.

"Make each day count as if it was your last"

Often I live by-
"I dunno I'm making this up as i go!"
Or variations of Mark Twain's stance on adventure.
Though now you'll see "Spork and Pudding" as my MSN motto :p Bit of an inside joke between Hayley and I :pi:

What's *your* motto!?
*edit* that sounds a bit like the Twain quote I was referring to!

"If we get caught - pretend we don't speak English."

"I'm sorry, I don't speak English."
"You are speaking English right now."
"No, I only know how to say, "I don't speak English" in English."

"Be prepared".

Or "Japanese school girl uniform = HOT".
I can't decide :p

That is the brilliance that is Dirk Pitt :D I might try that someday :p At least I've got the option of swapping to a garbled, broken French :)

To stay on topic here's that Twain quote-
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”
Kind of in that carpe diem spirit I thought :D

If I lived on a motto, I would never be able to live for real.

The closest thing that comes to a motto in my life is "I deserve." and "I need more time.", which aren't really mottoes, more like sentences that come from analyzing my life.

What? Should it be "I'm worth nothing"?

I usually try to live by this:
"Live every day like it's your last, 'cause tommorrow, you could be dead!"//Buffy Summers (and lots of other people before.)

^ Hardly by Buffy. That saying was around since the beginning of time it seams.

I know, but that was the first variation that came to mind.

I really like this one:

"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning!"

I love this one

"The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence."
