Just a suggestion: this should be stickied. In the deluge of GC it'll get lost very quickly, and it's always good to have a reminder at the top of the page that the moderation team are there and can be contacted.

Nice thread Justin and Good post Jackali

IMO I think this thread would be suited for new members who would have no idea of this forum(how it works, what they are meant to do e.t.c) this thread serves in a way a guideline for the new members and a refresh of memory for the old ones,,..you ask the question related to TRF you will get the answer via this thread

Great idea for a thread. I notice a lot of people have questions regarding the forum and it's rules, so this certainly keeps things a little cleaner and less unruly. :)

i have a question: who are McJ and Bokkie? are they active administrators? ive only heard about Justin being the only Administrator of TRF.
-------
i was being nosey and notice that Bokkie hadnt made a post in 15 months, adn i never heard the name until several months ago :p

and McJ has apparantly had 0 posts, as has Noc :pi:

afaik - McJ is Justin's backup Admin account incase someone hacks into his account or whatever goes wrong with his default account. Which turned out to be incorrect #12 (http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showpost.php?p=4953533&postcount=12)

Bokkie is a real human being, who rarely goes online and lives in Serbia.

Speaking of which, I don't know what happened to Simulation who was once a Super Mod. Guess he just stepped down?

Simulation - dunno what's happened to him.

Is this feature for suggestions on like cosmetic improvements or serious concerns?

I don't know about McJ, it does sound very logic that it's Justin's backup admin account.

Bokkie indeed is a real human being, but I haven't seen him online in ages. Not to be rude, but I think that he is not needed as an Admin o.O

Simulation indeed went poof, not sure what happened to him =/
Same goes for a few other moderators

Apofiss hasn't posted since March 2010, Bokkie recently posted after a 3 month break... not to be rude, but I think that the moderator list could be cleaned up a little.

McJ is the forum master administrator account. Bokkie is around but extremely busy IRL, the same with Simulation. Noc is a system alert bot.

I might suggest you make use of the search feature first as there have been threads in recent past about forum concerns. If nothing matches what you want addressed, then go ahead and post away.

Did a search and couldn't find one so here goes it's not exactly a concern more of an inconvenience - not being able to multi-quote other members i can only quote one at a time when replying to a post made by another member if i want to quote more than one member i have to go back and put their name and what they said in and then edit my post to include what they said, as i said it's not exactly a concern more of an inconvenience.

Forum ranks

I can't think of a better name to describe it so i'm calling it forum ranks, anyway getting to the point i'm currently a historian while rowanlim is a legend my question is at what point will i start to rank up for example on another forum we used to have ranks i forget what they are since the admins over there got rid of them for some reason, for example when i first registered i was a 0 post newbie but after a while i ranked up the more i posted so my question is could someone put together a list of the number of posts required to reach a particular rank,
if anyone is wondering what i mean by ranks try the gateworld forum where they have ranks based on US military ranks

I'd like to see the VM character limit increased beyond 1000. ive sent StefanJ a PM that was 1700 characters (and several others that were over 1000), and i had to post it in 3 VMs. its more of a nuisance than a dire issue.

Not a major concern but, the smilies that are supposed to be rolling their eyes.

IMO we should get new one where the eyes can actually be seen rolling and one that looks happy and cute.

I find the eye-roll emoticon is often used negatively if not just perceived negatively. I'm sure lots of arguments would simmer down a lot sooner if that negative looking smiley was not an option or was a nicer looking face.

I know Justin mentioned about forum upgrades a while back...did this ever happen? He also hinted at new themes, as these ones are STILL the same as ages ago and are STILL too bright for me to browse on for any length of time.

It seems odd we don't even have a "Tomb Raider" theme, lots of members have made mock ups of such a thing, and it would look great!

HEY J! Why can't I access find all posts and threads option? I woke up to find out I don't have permission???

That's part of the search engine, which is still disabled for members due to the strain it puts on the server. There was a sudden increase in bandwidth usage due to everyone searching for TR9 info after the GI cover release and we're trying our best to avoid load balancing issues. Hopefully this will be sorted out soon :)

A think a lot of guests are browsing the forum looking for info about TR9. For example, a few minutes ago it said 47 people were logged in and there were 111 guests. I'm sure there are even more guests during peak hours when more people are online in general, or when more news gets announced.
