Hello Everyone! :) I couldn't find a thread like this already so I created this. Anyway, I thought this would be a good place to share your fashion (for boys, sorry girls).

Since, I'm strugling to find something good this would also be good for me.

If there is a thread like this I am really sorry.

I have a pair of Nike & Etnies trainers.

Clothing is functional to me, fashion isn't my thing, I wear clothes to cover my genitals and keep me warm, not to "look good".

I do the same however I figure it may as well look good while being functional.:)

Leather jackets... Oh how much I love them...:)

But "looking good" simply means more money, money that I'm not prepared to part with for something so functional. And considering the products associated with "looking good" often originate from questionable sources, to me, that's even more reason not to part with the cash.

But that's just me :)

In the summer: T-Shirts. In the winter: Sweatshirts. At all times: Jeans. Jackets as the weather demands it.

Fashion is overrated.

^^This. Plus I wear a baseball cap 100% of the time (except when in bed, obviously).

I almost always wear a hoodie during the winter. I have so many.. I try to stay away from dressing like a full-blown prep so I dress more casual, but I'm really picky with what I wear. I'll almost never wear anything from like Walmart or stores like that and as bad as it sounds I'm usually wearing 80-100$ worth of clothing on my body at any given time. :l As for shoes, Vans, Nike, high tops or 6.0s.. I spend a lot of money on them. I like our school/city pride hoodies a lot, they're really popular here. I know what's attractive and what's not, let's just leave it at that. :p

You can find good looking functional and durable clothing made from good materials. High prices generally come from brand names, who needs brand names.

I love it, it's so smart. :D
I don't wear the suits and stuff tho, maybe when I'm older but i'd look odd walking around essex in some elegant Ralph Lauren suit at the age of 15 looool... I like to wear the slim fit custom mesh polos. :wve:

You should spend your money wisely. Buy some good quality basic items that can be combined with many things, like a good, stylish pair of jeans for example, or a jacket. These items will be expensive, but can be combined with things that can be cheaper (no brand or a cheap brand). It will still look good and not ´overdressed´. ;)

Vintage FTW! :mis:

I usually just wear a flannel or a hoodie with a pair of skinny jeans...

http://i51.************/2dwaz35.jpg

I try to stay away from clothes with like huge brand names displayed on them for the world to see. It's a little tacky imo. Like who really cares if you're wearing Aeropostale? I sure as hell don't. But I digress...

Oh and last week I got these wicked boots! I loooove them. :D

I agree to an extent, it can look really tacky when you pile it on and that's why I try to limit how much I wear of Aeropostale and stuff, they do have really nice clothes though. (Jeans especially and jackets especially). I like Pacsun as well.

I'm a jeans and t-shirt guy. I do like cargo trousers as well but other than that the only "brand" i suppose i wear is Merrels on my feet. I see that as i don't spend much on other clothing and you nearly always wear shoes why get cheap ones?

I also have a TAD gear stealth hoodie, it's a military jacket but is perfect for just about anything.

I always go for the semi-casual look. Most of the time, I usually have some sort of dress shirt/Jeans pants combo going with some sort of an extra-jacket like top added in. Its semi casual, its practical, and it always (kinda) looks good (I hope.)

Shoes? I interchange between dress shoes and running shoes occasionally... Depending on what I can get my hands on first.

Fashion isn't a bad thing.

I don't follow it myself but it is good to see different trends. Military is the big one right now.

Clothing is a little window of originality. I dress my own way buying stuff that I like and not what is dictated by everyone else. I love people with flare, male or female. But I also admire the jeans and a t-shirt because that is what I'm wearing right now.

Right now my favourite shop is Topman, I like a lot of the styles there but often you can see things that make you wonder how vain people are. I mean a v-neck t-shirt for guys that almost reaches your belly button isn't nice.

I also just dug out some winter stuff I bought last year but was too big for me. Now it fits snugly, I got this overcoat/jacket thing which is good for those cold days out.

But "looking good" simply means more money,
I know a few folks who have amazing talents in this, not costing much at all.

Also I think Beck won like 3 years in a row (or sth.) some "best dressed male" awards with wearing stuff he found at Walmarts. I am not sure if this really would mean "mostly cheap" - we have no Walmart here.

But myself I am with the casual wear, too.
Few times I thought to just for fun try a "John Lurie" style, but I can't wear hats, I am already 1,90m tall without hat. :pi:

A white shirt.
A black tie.
Black suit trousers.
Black or white socks.
Black adidas trainers.
Whatever underwear is closest.
I miss the suit jacket, black and the hat, black.
I so read this with Frank Oz' voice in mind. :pi:

To me it is the opposite. I do like formal clothing mixed with alternative old fashion elements, something extravagance is always welcome.

I'm a very fashionable person, but my attire varies depending on my mood. Sometimes I'll want to stand out, and that attire has three variations: indie, 'gangsta' and a mixture of both. It will consist of graphic t-shirts, skinny jeans, high-top sneakers, obnoxiously large belt buckles, and miscellaneous accessories. It's not my favourite attire, but it's good for those days where you feel so good, you just want the whole world to look at you. :p

Lately, I've been feeling pretty reckless ever since I got a new hairstyle, so I've been dressing rather 70's rockabilly in terms of slim fitting denim jackets, skinny jeans tucked into boots, and suspenders hanging down on my pants. Just the other day, as a matter of fact, I actually got a compliment saying I remind someone of Seamus O'Grady:

I'm a little bit like that as well. Come summer you want to wear as little as possible so there's not much room for putting together an outfit, but come winter you want to wear as much as possible so there's more options for you to wear: sweaters, blazers, jackets, scarves, hats, gloves, shoes, boots!

Just because you don't particularly like emo fashion doesn't make it not a fashion. Fashion is simply a style someone dresses, and given the fact that it is a trend, it certainly is a fashion. Just because you don't like it doesn't change that. Fashion doesn't automatically imply that it is favored by everyone. Nothing is.

I'm not a big fan of the emo look, but implying that it is not a fashion based on my opinion is ridiculous, and coming into a thread like this to insult it is just plain rude.

Definition from the dictionary:

fash·ion
a prevailing custom or style of dress, etiquette, socializing, etc.:

Emo style is a fashion. Fashion isn't just one style. Anything that is a style can be considered a fashion. Do a google search on "Emo Fashion" and you will find plenty of resources.

However, one thing that's certainly not a fashion is your opinion that you're forcing down everyone's throats.

Not to mention, not all fashion is glamourous. In fact, most high fashion isn't. Fashion can be many different things, and just because someone doesn't like a certain fashion doesn't make it not a fashion at all. That's a very close minded way of thinking.

I'm surprised at how rude you are, more than anything.

You are actually contradicting yourself here. First you say it's a word used to define an attitude (which is kinda true, as it just stands for emotional). But, then you say that the most typical way of describing it is a physical look or style (black clothing, dark long hair, etc.).

The way I see it, you have to pick one side or the other. Either you think of emo as an attitude and therefore you can't even judge if the photo originally posted really represents an emo person, OR, you only think of emo has someone with a given look - in which case, it's a fashion.

Put any word in front of fashion and it will basically exist. Even if it's not really real. So I guess you're right.... in a way.

Yeah, I know. I basically think its an attitude. (That usually goes along with a dark style, which then can be considered fashion, which I think its stupid too, but thats a whole other thing) But to use the word Emo to describe fashion when it's not about style, but personality is just not really the same thing. I know it's a bit contradicting, but the word Emo is stupid in the first place. :p

A word on its own can't be stupid, just how it's abused. Emo was originally meant to describe a sub genre of punk music. Some bands then gave a dark, gloomy flair to their visuals and sounds, and from there, the kids starting making the whole connection between "emo" and "dark".

So, today most kids who define themselves as "emo" do it mostly because they like the dark style, and to do so they even fake the attitude they suppose fits it (hence, glamourising depression or suicide... *facepalm*). They might not even be genuinely fans of the music and the artistic aspect that's in the origin, they just want to fit the current cliche.

London aint that cold all year round! I was there in may and it was like 30 degrees! I was roasting and sweating all the time.

Shhhhhh! Don't ruin my fantasy! :mis:

Become a captialist cog (i.e. Business student.) I promise you, your closet will be filled with every piece of clothing you just posted in that picture ;).

No thank-you, practically grew up in various financial firms and know enough people in the money market to know that I don't want to have to deal with it as a career.

Well, I have a very versatile yet quite conservative fashion sense.
On a normal day in the office I wear semi-formal buttoned shirts with preppy jeans and pointed leather shoes.
For everyday casual I'm rather fond of skinny jeans, all stars and golf shirts. However, when I feel like something different I usually dress a bit more punk rock.
I get rid of fashion items when the trend dies out, but keep my versatile clothes like plain t-shirts and jeans for years.
As for formal I am rather fond of combining tuxedos and formal clothes with modern glam.
I am very nitpicky on swimming attire. I cannot stand boardshorts. I'm quite fond of tight boxerbrief-like swimwear.
I have a big thing for male couture although I wouldn't wear it.
I go apenuts for Sunglasses...I wear a different pair almost everyday.

I went a bit way out with my hair recently....I sport a half shaven pompadour mohawk...Sort of like an Adam Lambert hairdo on steroids. I love retro hair trends as well as modern ones.

Great thread btw.

I haven't been in summer but when I went to London it was 0 degrees :p Now The north of England... that's cold all year round. We're lucky if we hit 10 degrees in the summer.

Really? How north we talking? I've been to Leeds and that wasn't too bad at all.. Although Ireland is similar, often it's between 10-15 degrees for summer on average although it varies.. some times we get a week of good weather in the summer lol..

I hear ye got crazy amounts of snow right in England now though! In the west of Ireland, where I live we get little snow.. there's some here now but it's often too cold to snow here!

So I'm all wrapped up in scarves and a nice leather jacket from Pennys which ye would call Primark:p

I'm from the North East, near the borders of Scotland :p We have six inches of snow and we're in the minus scale of temperature now :vlol: And they call it Penny's in Ireland? That's awesome :vlol:

South is so hot compared to here! I literally have to strip off once we get past Manchester :vlol:

Oh we have a few differences like that,
-Here Magners Irish cider is called Bulmers
-Vauxhall cars are called Opel,
-Chavs are called shams/skangers/scumbags
-Pavements are footpaths
-Trainers are runners
- If something is really good we say it's 'savage' or 'deadly'
- If something is bad it's 'cat'

And I hear that the Irish word geansaí (meaning jersey/jumper/sweater) is used (although rarely) in parts of north England only spelt as gansey.. can you confirm? I can't think of any more right now:p

Yeah, when I watch that movie Kidulthood I could barely understand it as English much of the time! There's lots of random little differences between Ireland and England, different slang/terms ect...lol :p

Well Kidulthood is based in London, isn't it? Up North we hardly say any of those words they use 0_0
Northumbrian is very like Geordie, mixed with well-spoken English. So like, Cheryl Cole mixed with Lara :p

I'M GOING PUNK!!!!

Growing my hair, dying it black.

Gonna wear twig jeans, tight jeans, rip them up, ruin them.

Band t-shirts, rip them up, stand on them, spit on them, rub them in the snow.

Combat boots, Japanese work boots and Converse hi-tops/sneakers.

Black leather jacket, punk military jacket.

So yes...That is on my................................................ ..................Christmas list...*sigh*

But anyways...Downloading a ton of punk music on my iPhone as we speak!

I don't know if I'm allowed to "bump" this but I adore fashion. I'm going to start a menswear blog soon.

My favourites are:
- Vivienne Westwood
- ACNE
- Billionaire Boys Club
- Dolce & Gabbana
- Dries Van Noten
- Burberry
- Jil Sander
- American Apparel

When/if I get a job I hope to get some more clothes ;)

I always wear slim jeans and skater shoes. They're like my signature. :p However, when it comes to shirts, I'm constantly changing. I have skater tees, polos, band tees, (more recently) plaid shirts, and whatever else I like. My taste is always changing. :D

Hmm. I see what you mean, I used to hate them but I love them, with loafers though. I wouldnt wear sneakers or trainers with skinny jeans but I think with loafers, it just seems smarter and more comfortable.

Light or dark shirt. I don't have a lot of in between colors. Dark (Purple, Black, ETC) Light (White, yellow, light orange ETC)
Skinny jeans. I have like one pair of baggy jeans :p
Converse, black. (Shoes, for those who didn't know)
Eye liner (Yes, I am a guy that wears eye liner.) Bottom lid only.Thin line, not a lot.
I straighten my hair as well.
So, I guess I am in the Scene/Emo style category. :D

Pretty much this for me. I've been dressing like i preppy little bitch ever since i hit 12. :p

12-06-11, 01:28
I usually wear the "hipster" style.

Example:

http://i53.************/2v97pe8.jpg

Except, a baggier beanie (in the winter, I don't wear one when it's hot) and replace the combat boots with some Chuck Taylor's or Vans, and I wear quite a few band shirts and v-necks: Paramore, Cobra Starship, 3OH!3, etc.

That's my typical wardrobe.

Oh, and in the summer, skinny jean cut-offs! :D

leglion
12-06-11, 02:11
Thinking of it, my wardrobe isn't one specific style. It's a mix of prep, skater, hipster, and hip hop. lol. No, i can't stick to one. :p

StefanJ94
12-06-11, 02:14
Well my wardrobe is pretty prep and somewhat old fashioned. Contains mostly black! Other colours include white and blue and that's probably it. :vlol: I never follow fashion, I only wear what I feel comfortable in. And I hate wearing jeans, sunglasses and a wrist watch. :) I like to keep it simple so I absolutely despise any kind of silly writings or pictures on my shirts. I'll probably never wear a shirt that has that on it. Also I very much like anything with the UK flag on :vlol: That's probably all, I'm so boring >_>
