For those into 1960's retro. - who was better in that period, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones or Bobby Dylan (or anyone else for that matter)?

Always been a Bob fan. Could live without the others and have none of their albums. How about you John?

I like the Beatles the best, never was a huge Stones fan, although I do have their "40 licks" CD, & like listening to it while driving alone (cuz them I can sing), Dylan...some of his stuff I like a lot; other of his songs, he was either totally stoned or had stones in his mouth. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif ;)

STONES! STONES! STONES!

(Although Lennon was also a demi-god).

The Stones were (and still are) the greatest of all rock bands.

I'm told that SWLABR stands for 'She Walks Like a Bearded Rainbow'! Yup, makes no more sense than the acronym!

But don't forget - it was the '60's!

The Beatles. The latest issue of Rolling Stone magazine named The Beatles the best group of all time.

I also liked The Velvet Underground. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/music2.gif

The Who were more of a seventies band weren't they? Like Parliament Funkadelic?

They started out in 1959 as The Detours.

Changed to The Who in 1964 when Keith Moon joined them.

They changed their name because every time they phoned for a gig the organisers would ask Who they were :D
