View Full Version : Totally lousy day...

After spending the entire day looking at cars (which on my budget is a lot less fun than I hoped it would be), the fastest runner and most efficient piece of engineering I've encountered all day is...

THIS! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif

http://insects.tamu.edu/images/animalia/arthropoda/insecta/blattaria/blattidae/periplaneta_americana_adult_dorsal_m_02.jpg

I was just checking in to say "hi" to all my favourite forumites this afternoon (after dragging my less-than-impressed toddler through the rain from one auto to another), when the little darling http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif comes stomping up with a great big smile on his face and announces "Look mama, an usgusting bug!"

And the BIGGEST, most revolting critter I've ever seen was sacheting out of my closet! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif Seriously, it was about an inch and a half long (I've never before seen any bug more menacing than a good old English earwig, so this one seemed about the size of a Jack Russell). http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif

I don't like my new house as much now. :(

A red X bug! How disturbing! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif ;)

Can't see the picture Jiao. :(

http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/hug.gif I hope your day tomorrow is much better. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif Or just be like me. Have a really stressful week, get sick, and them be on cold medicine and not have a care in the world for a few hours. ;)

NOTE: Celli does not condone the use of medicine to escape life's problems, unless it's a cold after a stressing week. Disclaimer over.

:D

Pass the Robitussin, Celli. ;)

Hope you get to feeling better soon. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/love1.gif

Robitussin? I see no Robitussin.... *hides bottle behind back* http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Whoa...that must be a water beetle. My sister had those all the time in the townhouse she lived in for a year. (My sister has moved about 3 times in 4 years, but within the same city! lol)

Actually, this is more like the little bugger. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif

http://www.stampede-entertainment.com/postcards/monstermakers/bug-1-pl.jpg

I'm definitely NOT the hysterical type of female, and I don't generally mind bugs or spiders. But this one triggered some hitherto unknown primal-screaming-cavewoman response (with hindsight, it was pretty funny - me shrieking my head off, my two year old laughing and trying to ride on the bloody thing, and our dog going nuts in the next room because of all the commotion). http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/clown.gif

It took four attempts to flush it down the loo. And I'm still not entirely convinced it's gone for good... :(

Ewwww...I hate bugs. Too many legs on those pesky things and the hairs just make me feel itchy thinking about them. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif

There have been rumours of those things living in the sewers of your country for years now... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif Apparently they are nocturnal, & can come crawling from the depths while you're sleeping. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif ;)

Now it's just a ****roach you silly people. A marvel of engineering and basically harmless http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Especially when they climb into bed with you http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif

Now gonga... I'm a modest, retiring sort of girl, but I've been to bed with a few c*ckroaches in my time and I can firmly attest that they are NOT always as gormless - <ahem> - harmless as they seem. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif

Oh Jade, you'll give me nightmares. I hope to hell that it's not been doing anything eggy!!! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif

Ugh.....I hate insects, especially roaches....they're gross http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif Just gives me the creeps when I see them darting across my bedroom floor(luckily that happens only about once every leap year) http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif When I was having a vacation in Tunisia a few years back, there were roaches all over the house.....I screamed everytime I saw one crawling towards me at high speed http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif

I'm going to have it suspended from the ceiling by fly-paper covered chains. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/clown.gif

And I've decided to take advantage of this steamy southern climate and grow BIG venus fly-traps all over the bedroom. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif

Just throw a heavy book on it ( as long as your carpet is not too deep ) and then pull out the vaccuum cleaner. ;)

Hopefully it doesn't fly.

Very good, buddy of mine! He's about 15lbs ATM (got a bit tubby because he was sick recently), but he'll soon be back in puppy-shape. Just as well - I think Jade might be onto something with that Mission: Impossible harness idea! ;)

The wee Peke's name is Spuki, and he's an old guy (12+).
