My friend is an idiot. He thinks he can blow me off for his girlfriend and then come crying on my shoulder when things go wrong. Even though I intensely dislike her and know she is wrong for him I still make the hugest effort to get along with her seeing as he and I are like siblings to each other.
But she is insanely jealous of me as his closest friend and he is letting her ruin our friendship. I have tried slapping some sense into him but he is totally caught up in their relationship and Im so over being treated like this.

I sound like Im on Springer. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif

Sorry to the 1.5 billion men I insulted in my subject heading. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

Yes, you at least could have titled this "some" men.
(you can still change it you know ;)
To describe your experience with 1 guy you generalize enormously.

Or even better title: " xxx (his name) is an idiot!" :D

About what you are telling here. I take it that you are single? He is "a friend" ( a close one) to you. But he has a love relationship with her.
In that case, i can understand she wants you not too close to him. And he should not come to you crying and telling all about his relation. It is like a betrayal to his lover.
I sense that you would like (and hope for) him as your boyfriend. If i am wrong in that, and you really want to be his 'a good friend" you would show him your friendship by helping him restoring his sanity and learning to behave, with more distance between you 2. Because love-relationships are Divine, and need to be protected and respected. Even in hard times.

Joseph: I am in a relationship and he and the friend get along very well. And the thought of my friend romantically is just gross. He is the friend I will never ever ever under any circumstances become involved with romantically. I adore him too much to ever ruin our friendship. He is like a little brother.

We were married for one year 4 months and twelve days before we seperated, we thought we loved each other..but it just was not meant to be, thankfully we did not have any children, would have made things much worse :(

It is still hard for me, I mean I am 26 and divorced...not really proud of that...but nothing I can do about it now..

Now...if only I can find a decent guy.... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif

Btw, nerdalicious, I was divorced from my ex at 26, too. How weird!! We had 3 kids, though, but they're doing o.k. with it. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Sounds like a tricky one. I don't know what I'd do if I was you and I had a female friend who kept coming to me when she was already in a relationships. I think it's one of those you just have to judge it based on the individual cirumstances.

Oh, and men ARE idiots. So are women. We all have a bit of the idiot in us from time to time.

This is how my last "date" went.....

I have been single for awhile, being newly divorced. And a coworker of mine decided to hook me up...fine, she has good taste and knows what I have been through, so I agree..

Being in my field of work, I get to go to cd launches..so Friday night, we would all meet up at the release party.

She told me he was super nice, and totally beautiful, now looks do not matter to me, I actually perfer the nerdy looking guys, like pasty and scrawny..I just prefer brains over brawn...

So, I dress to the nines...I wore black pants, stilettos and this really cute silvery slinky top. I thought I looked hot.

At the after party at their recording studio, I was introduced to him and he was hot, I was being gorgeous and charming, flirty (waaay to much wine) then all of a sudden, he looked at me, grabbed my stomach, pinched the fat and said,"you'd be so much cuter if you got rid of this." http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif

I had to leave before I went mortal combat on his ass.... it was all I could do to get to my car without anyone seeing me cry.

My sister told me I should have grabbed at his ummm..package and said " I bet you'd get l**d more if you had something here" Hahaha, that would have been funny, sorry I did not say it http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/c-1.gif

Lucky gal that ends up hitched to that winner...

I have not dated since....

Nerdalicious, I hear ya. I once dated this guy, totally jackarse, I dont know why I did. He was a selfish no-hoper who thought it was funny to put me down. I kicked his sorry arse to the curb, and last I heard of him he is still desperate fat and dateless. :D

What was I thinking? Dont let him get the best of you. Any pig who treats women like that is not worth it.
