My mom always does it the day after thanksgiving, and I've pretty much followed in that tradition. How about you guys?

Early December too :p
My mum's just put the spiced dried fruit up though ^_^ and the cinnamon and vanilla pods -- now it smells Christmassy!

My mom and me put up our (tiny and fake) Christmas tree THE day of Thanksgiving. And also the light for the porch. And also the decorations for the dining room, etc.

She was like: "If we're going through the trouble of putting them up, we might as well leave them up some good time."

Well at least it's not like some shopping malls that say "Start your Christmas shopping today!" and it's barely march. :p

It's the Lionel Harry Potter Train set (http://www.legacystation.com/Lionel_Harry_Potter_Hogwarts_Express_Train_set.htm ), we've had it for about 2 years.

Anywhere from after Thanksgiving here in the United States up until the first week of December, and leave them up until New Years. :p

With my family, it is always late haha. We are actually just now putting up the tree, then who know when we will actually get around to decorating it haha. :p

I normally don't. :D

I put up a tree last year with spiffy Mario decorations I made, but I don't think I'll bother this year.

Actually (Our -in America) Thanksgiving is the 3rd Thursday of November.

I don't do the tree thing. But I do have some lights up in my computer room. Just one set though... I do believe they (decorated trees) are pagan'ish symbols, so it's just a personal/"religious" conviction. But if anyone wants to put them up - you're more than welcome to. And I'm not saying I would NEVER put up a tree. Perhaps, if I had a family, I'd need a place to put the presents until Dec. 25th. :whi:

ETA: To answer the question... If I were to decorate... December 1st.

My preference is the day after Thanksgiving if we're in town. We traveled this year for T-giving though, so I didn't get it done till the next week.

It's a lot of work decorating, so I like to maximize the amount of time it's up, you know?

FYI, I'm not a big fan of "cutesy" yard decor (cutesy anything, for that matter,) and I came home from helping a friend with a show and there's an inflatable on our porch.

But's it's a penguin. How fitting!

I do all of the outdoor decorating on any decent weather day after December 1. We don't set up the tree until 2 weeks before Christmas. However we're a bit late this year, doing it today.

Step by step from the first week of December. The tradition in my home town was to get the Christmas tree just a day or two before Christmas Eve (We celebrate Christmas in Finland on the eve), not sure if it is the same for the rest of Finland.

This year though I got the tree last week. Already decorated for the most part, and got a new bio ethanol fireplace just for Christmas. Prefer the real thing, but we live in a flat so that's the only option :p

Wow, I'm amazed at how early some of you put up the tree. I usually do it around December 20th and it stays until January 10th.
