There is a picture of angelina jolie I would like to scan from a magazine but there is text on the background in white and the background is dark. Is there any way to get rid of the white text and still keep the background? The text is not on top of her image so I could just cut her image out and put on a black background but I would really like the whole picture. Any ideas?

there are several ways to do this. one is use the clone stamp tool, sample a part of surrounding area without the text, and draw over what you want to get rid of. a more complicated way would be to use the lasso tool, and draw around the image of Lara (I suggest using the feather tool option with a setting of 3px) then cut it out, and paste on a new background.
here is a site that can help out.

erase out the words?

I looked at the picture again and the background is kind of blurry so maybe the clone tool will work but the text covers 60% of the picture. :(

TRdan - won't the erase tool erase the background too?

If you can post the picture on the forum. Or if you want you can send it to me, and I could fix it. If you want just post the pic up, and I could look at it, and tell you what you can do.

I have a very nice Photo Suite called Micrografx Picture Publisher. You could send the photo to me too, if you want, and I could see what I can do. Then you would have a couple to choose from http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif If your interested, PM me.
