DIYS is a system and idea i have come up with.
The idea is like the Sims games,
you simply build you own sceneries, directly inside XNALara!
Streets, apartments, mansions, villas, factories, in time, entire city's!

Are you tired of the same and the same sceneries for your renders?
Tired of requesting for new ingame sceneries?
Tired of waiting?
This is the solution!
DIYS - Do It Your Self Sceneries!

I have made basic building blocks,
with walls, floors, roofs, road, sidewalk and more.
Everything is easy to place, flip, rotate, invert, resize after need and placement.
The texturing has also been placed on the objects very simple, so even you can replace them with ease!
Simply load in the wall texture in a photo program, and replace it with your own.
The same goes with every object to the scene.

This is freely to use, edit, change or replace as you wish!
For other modders, modelers, texture editors and others.
You are free to make new mods, extensions and add ons to this DIYS project.

It's time for another DIYS update!
Let me first say sorry, for not making a funny rendering this time,
but i wanted to give a better package view.
Okay okay, bad excuse, i was to lazy to make one! :D
Anyways...
This is more or less a poly reduce update.
Some shapes has been removed, some have been added.
They are all very low poly so you can build bigger, larger, wider and taller than ever before.
The UVMaps/Textures are also better places.
You will also notice that the walls and floors are a tat bigger than the first 2 version.
There is good and bad news for this.
The good news is that these new sizes are fixed blender sizes so its easy to make extra stuff for it.
They are 100% precise,
and SO much easier to place and put together now.
Most imported, the windows and doors still fit,
even though i resizes the walls and floors.
And now to the bad news, some pre-build sections don't work any longer, and needs to be re-build.
This should be the final change to the main building blocks,
and from now on it should only be add-ons.

tat's great! i have like so many random objects like floors, walls, roofs, etc.. that i can extract from games that i have but i would never release them becuz i doubt people will find them much use and here is the perfect place for them. let's just hope my laziness wont get the better of me.

As i just said to a fan on dA:
This is an easy way to start modding,
as you can make a whole house,
then export it as an object and upload it as a complete model set with your own textures.
Like a pink villa :vlol:

No seriously, this is a grate tool for people thats not good with blender and other 3D software,
just stay in XNALara, and fold out your creativity.
You can also save your house/creation as a scene and save it for later use, and you can change it after need.

Ol.a, your first scenery object has been added :D

I am uploading the Building Pack v1.0 right now,
but forgive me, my mobile modem has the slowest upload speed in the world,
i thick a ISDN modem would have been faster, and it's 40mb.

Still waiting for the phone company to install my 100/100 mbit fiber line :D

Here is a quick tutorial how to rescale hight, wideness and thickness,
without rescale all sides at ones.

Forgive me, i didn't paint the classic red boxes,
but you should be able to figure it out anyways ;)

First, load your wished model.
Now notice i marked the scale number 1.0 blue.

Now go to the menu: Command / Mirror model X

Now you can see the scaling has changed to 3 sets of numbers.

Go on and play around with the numbers so you get use to the rescaling.

When you are done with shaping your model to the size you want or need,
make sure you flip it back! on Mirror model X

When you flip it back, you will still have 3 sets of numbers to rescale with.

Why do you have to flip it back?
Well, the textures and lighting specifications in the model, are in ONE way!
So if you place a flipped wall, and a none flipped wall,
the lights will look very weird on your model set!
So make sure you flip it back! ;)

Great work, everyone. The list is growing fast! :D
Ill be working on Building Pack v1.1 this weekend, with alot of new shapes.
But im gonna be quite busy, real life stuff. But ill update the front page as soon as i can :)

When you add doors and windows,
make sure they fit the building blocks to make it easy for the DIYS users.
Keep in mind, this is for all skill levels, from total newbie to skilled 3D maker.
If you do add a windows out of proportion to the base walls,
please make a wall in same dimensions and textures as the base walls,
and put it along with the new "special dimension" window.
Shouldn't be hard for you guys to make a wall ;)

If the windows are super large, still keep the dimentions but make it 1x1, 2x1, 3x1 and so on, so the walls fit the rest of the walls.

Easy mate, just add a 50% opacity PNG file to the mtl file instead of JPG.

I made a simple but very nice tool for my self, i call it CenterTool for XNALara.
So now its ALOT easier for me to center objects 100%, down to last pixel.
So right now im re-centering all building blocks so they are perfectly centered for the 1.1 release :)

If anyone is interested, i can share it :)
Its a 3D object with 3 colors in 75% opacity so you can see exactly what your doing, and where.
You can rescale the Tool to fit the wideness of your object dimensions.

i have some ideas - you should make a trap door with matching floors, one with a hole in the floor in the middle of it, and one with a hole in the floor to to the right (or left since it can be mirrored) of it, perhaps a metal door (a high-tech one?) as well.

Yeah it looks crazy, but its VERY effective.
Its a amazing tool, also because its a bit transparent.
Takes 10 sec to center an object 100%, and a hell of a lot easier then in blender.

I think Dusan made objects and models extra small in XNALara, so it would be easier to run for old PC's, dont know.
But everything is HUGE in XNALara.

A very important thing please read:
When you name your model make sure it has DIYS at the beginning, for example: "HDTV.rar", you should name it "DIYS_HDTV.rar"...etc.:tmb:
Please im getting lost because my XNALara model list is huge!:vlol:

OK! Or you can download a version of xnalara only for Diys models.. like i've done me!! btw next objects will have the diys prefix!

Version 1.1 is duo to release today ;)
All objects are updated and centered 100% and many new shapes.

Yeah it looks crazy, but its VERY effective.
Its a amazing tool, also because its a bit transparent.
Takes 10 sec to center an object 100%, and a hell of a lot easier then in blender.
Cant wait to see what you have in store for us ;)

Building blocks with inside doors, fences, and all what needs to built an house

Furnitures: all what you can put inside a house

Garden: all what you can put outside a house

and Miscellaneus: Cars , animals, etc...

I would like to make a request, I need a bookshelf, and perhaps it would by possible to have separete books, like rows of perhaps 10 books?
It would be great to have both a bookshelf and a shelf for display items, she needs somewhere to place her artifacts :)

Ill have a look at the books tomorrow. :)

If you are smart, you could take a floor from DIYS, flip it, resize and rescale it down to shape a simple shelf.
Replace the Dry Wall textures with wood, and bingo, a shelf :p
Check my tutorial on the front page about the shaping with rescaling.
You can almost make your own objects this way.

Yeah, it is "almost" like a "real" 3d software, and with a little creativity,
you can build a lot of cool things out of basic materials.
And multiple shapes, then save it as a scene for later edit,
or if your happy with it, export it as a final object and change the textures :)
Simple, but very effective. The whole point of DIYS ;)

The armchairs is made by Lara_Maniac/Baloo,
Everything else; the plant in the corner and walls (witch I recoloured) floor and window is made by Decan from his DIYS series.

DIYS Shape Pack v1

The DIYS Shape Pack has the same principle as DIYS Sceneries.
With simple objects, with a little creativity and if you like to puzzle with things, you can create your very own 3D objects.
From tables, chairs, shelfs, you name it.
Only your imagination and creativity sets the limits.
This way you can make objects without even opening a 3D software like blender, 3dsmax ect ect.
Just stay in XNALara and let your creativity and imagination fold out.

I have added two imported addons!

Low Poly Floor_1x1
and
Low Poly Wall_1x1

The reason is simple,
people who make huge houses will have Ram and/or CPU problems when they have added a lot of floors and walls.
There is no point in using the old ones, as they look 100% the same.
I have only made these two as you can just clone them to make 2x1, 4x1 ect.
Windows wall and door wall, triangle floors will remain high poly so far.

I Strongly recommend that you just overwrite the old ones, as they take a lot of resources to run.

I have found out on my own how to alternate and change a UV map on an object, but cant figure out how to delete the dots or create the dots in it.

Are the chairs separated? Or is it a total fixed model?
Btw, are you using blender or max?
