Ivy Valentine from Soul Calibur IV

The "Special Ivy Valentine Outfit" competition aims to create a modification of the Ivy Valentine Model by blufan according to the XNA rule:
No more skin then Lara bikini (http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showpost.php?p=5247116&postcount=74).
The personalities of the original characters must be preserved.
Permits are both: drawings and mesh Modifications.
Please take your time to read the rules and look at the example entry. If you don't understand something, feel free to ask!


Rules


Keep the Rules for XNALara (http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showpost.php?p=5180150&postcount=1)!
You can use the model "Ivy Valentine" by blufan as the base for your mesh mod, although it is forbidden to use this model in this forum, without modification :)
And you can add as many parts as you like (just make sure the character is still recognizable as "Ivy Valentine").
The Entry must not show any more skin than Lara does in her Legend bikini.
The entry must not be new or made specifically for this competition.
You can use mesh parts or a complete custom mesh provided by others but please ask their permission (if possible) and credit.
You can use textures made by others but please ask their permission (if possible) and credit.
You can make a sketch, a 3D render, a drawing or painting ... ect
You can enter as often as you like. You have Unlimited number of Entry's.

If you have not the base model then ask blufan (http://www.tombraiderforums.com/member.php?u=41680) or myself with PM for the DL.

Allowed are:

Entries can originate in any medium !

You can make a Texture Modification without Download Link.
You can pose the model by blufan with XNALara, and make a paint over.
You can make a digita drawing or digital painting.
You can make a traditional drawing or traditonal painting
You can make a photomanipulation.
You can make a 3D Sculpt.
You can make a traditional Sculpt.


Deadline: 8th April 2011 - 11:59 p.m.

Voting starts after the deadline and will last for two weeks.

Recommendation: Protect the model with ModProtector and / or (if you do not likes ModProtector) adding a text like this to the readme.txt:
"The removal of the following mesh-Parts is not allowed: Bra ..., xyz and abc ... ..!

Well I'm not really good with all these mod-stuff so I'll just watch at the ntries since Ivy's my favourite Soul Calibur character(Even if the majority of her outfits don't make sense :p ) . I liked the chrome-like one looks fantastic :) .

Hmmm, I like drawing but my drawings suck. For example when I draw women the one breast is bigger than the other, the legs are fat the fingers are connected together and hardly visible etc. etc. :p As for the other I don't know how xD .

Yes, drawing correct proportions is really hard, but you can just use the Ivy by blufan, pose her in XNALara and then use that as a template for your drawing. It won't be so hard then. :D

The general rule is that all female characters in any modded images and models (using XNALara or anything else) must not show any more skin than Lara does in her Legend bikini. Male characters can be topless, but not bottomless.

The purpose of the competition is:

Change the IVY STANDARD OUTFIT to comply by the rules,
because the model Ivy Valentine (http://www.tombraiderforums.com/showpost.php?p=5240779&postcount=9102) rigged by blufan got banned from the forum.

I'll post here instead of replying to the furore in the recap thread. First of all, as Ward Dragon pointed out above, the moderators are perfectly aware that Ivy Valentine is from a Teen rated game. But that doesn't change the fact that her outfit crosses the boundaries that we have established for the XNALara section. That's why the model was removed - after much discussion among the moderators, I might add. Believe me, none of us are such prudes that a bit of visible flesh makes us faint with horror. :rolleyes: We enforce the rules strictly in order to maintain some amount of control over the XNALara section, which is one of the fastest moving sections on this forum, and one in which a lot of people seem to be bent upon pushing the boundaries and creating chaos.

Also, the fact seems to be almost completely lost in this section, but people need to be reminded that this is a Tomb Raider forum. It's not a Soul Calibur forum, and it most certainly is not an 'artistic nudes (or almost-nudes)' forum. That's the reason why the rules are based on what Lara wears in the official games, and not what some other character wears in other teen-rated games. While I completely understand that XNALara has moved well beyond a simple Lara posing program, that does not mean that anything that is possible with XNALara needs to be showcased on this forum.

We don't want to start making exceptions because then that makes things even more confusing.

My view is that the current rules are fine and if a model shows more skin than the bikini (such as Ivy) then according to the current rules no downloads are allowed, but renders are okay as long as we can't see anything more than Lara's bikini would show.

I'm also thinking that maybe someone could modify Ivy's outfit a little bit so that the fabric covers as much as Lara's bikini. That should be okay too because it would comply with the established rules.
