My mother tongue is Turkish. English is second, I have been studying "English Language Teaching for Primary Levels" at university. That means my job is also teaching English.
And we had German in High school, but I forgot what I know! :(

I do think you "non North Americans" have far better education in languages. Most of you seem to be fluent in at least two languages; most in more than two. I envy you.

My second language is English. I had 3 school years of French, but can't say I know a lot of it. Can understand some Spanish, only because it's similar to Portuguese, though.

Does that mean that Area 51 is in the Phillipines or are you living in the US.

My Stepmother comes from Iloilo but she was living and working in Manilla when my Dad met her. They were married in 1980. My Dad and Tessie are in the Phillipines at the moment in Iloilo. Tessie owns some land there and they are looking at building a house there. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

English is my second, I guess... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif I would put Spanish in the same place, if it hasn't been centuries (well, almost!) since I last spoke them - not sure about what condition they are in my brain now :D French is third surely, and I can also understand a good deal of Italian - can't speak it, though

English is my second language. I can also speak/write German, but not as well. I understand a bit of Spanish, Italian and Japanese, but you can't really say I speak any of them http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

My first language was Chinese, but my grandparents made me forget it; children who learn English as their prominent language fare better in America. So I guess English is my base, while Spanish is my second language.

Does Pig Latin count? http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif haha. All I know is English and I did know how to speak Dino pretty well, almost fluently. Dino is a language that they made up on Star Fox and my brothers and I learned it. So no, I don't speak a second or htird language, although I do entend on learning Japanese and Spanish. If they offer the classes at my college.

I'm teaching myself German - my school is utterly pathetic at teaching languages (plus all but one of the German teachers act like semi-psychopathic child-hating homosexual molesters) so I'm gonna drop the damned subject at the end of this year and just continue on my own. I'm learning just now by using German forums to get critique on my design & website stuff and it seems to be working. ^_^
