Excuse the 'look at me!' thread title, I didnt know what else to put haha! :o

My main medium is graphite pencils. I dont really have a lot of time to draw due to college and the workload that comes with it, but when I do draw something I always post it here to see what people think. I thought it would be better for me to make a thread for me to update rather than make new ones every time I finish something! :p

I'd just love to know what people think really. :D

My DeviantART is here: http://amzypop.deviantart.com/

And my best work:

Awesome work! :tmb: You've pretty much got your shading down, which always proves to be tough for me, so I'm totally jelly. ._.

Thank you! :D I hope so, I like to try and make it as good as I can so it takes a while. I've spent 5 hours on Mario from the start till now! :/

I find crosshatching lightly helps blending if you crosshatch 2 pencils into each other, but even then it is hard, Mario's skin needs more work. And a kneaded eraser helps a lot!

Aww, thank you!

Thanks for noticing, I spend a lot of my time on the line art to get the shapes right. Lucario was my first time shading so thanks again! :p

I'm planning on getting a wacom tablet soon, so hopefully I will try digital art soon. :D

I'm so jealous of your shading <3 It's so neat and clean. I particularly like the candle and the apple works, and you're constantly improving, which is so lovely to see. You've most definately got a talent! I'd love to see more from you <3

First proper digital painting work in progress - a bunch of grapes. My hand hurts from using my Wacom tablet after I paint around 2 grapes. So I'm taking quite a few breaks lol! :o

EDIT: I love how I called this my 'traditional art' thread... here I am now, doing digital art!

Finally done, 7 hours taken. The stem is terrible, I had a hard time getting the perspective right. Hopefully practice will make perfect, I'll try out some more tutorials on painting.

Feel free to ignore me but if you're going for realism then you need to add more colours because at the moment it's very flat.

http://medicine-science.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/grapes_heart_health.jpg

Maybe add some pastel coloured highlights and soft different coloured shadows. That's only if you're going for a realistic look.

Thanks for the constructive advice! You're right, I'm going to make sure that I use more colours in my next digital painting! I should have added more reds and oranges to my colour pallet. I'll leave this as my 'first attempt' at digital painting and move on to see if I significantly improve or not. This is why I love criticism, thanks for taking the time to say that, I can't wait to start another piece with your advice in mind, it'll be something new (exciting!) to try. :D
