Hi everyone :)

I want to edit some photos of my sister in Photoshop and I want to get the effect in the pictures below.
It's quite trendy nowadays... However, I have no idea how to describe it :p It's some sort of colour layered over the original photos (Rihanna/Alexis = Red, Nicole/Natalia = Blue). Is there anyone who knows how is it called? I'd like to find some tutorials, so I can achieve something similar. By the way - I think my photoshop skills are fairly good,

Thanks for all answers :)

i think it's called a cross-processed effect :)

what I do to get that effect is put a solid dark blue colored layer over the layer containing the image and then just set the blue layer's blending mode to 'exclusion'

Isn't that just using or applying a filter? I guess there are other, more complicated ways to get a better effect though.

I can achieve this effect in GIMP by using the Lighten Only brush.

Open photoshop
Go to Image>Adjustments
Open Color Balance.
Under ''Tone Balance'' Select Shadow.

Slide a little bit to blu and cyan,i don't know, wahtever you like.

if it's too blue,Under Tone Balance select ''Highlights'' and slide a bit to yellow!

the result is this!

For the Alexis Jordan effect just create e new gradient layer over the original one and change the blending mode!

hope it helps!
