Blood Rayne arrived today. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif I've been playing it all afternoon. I love it...the controls are great, lots of action, looking around, trying to figure out what to do next. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif

Thanks to Marcus T for recommending it!!! :D :D :D

Rayne is half vampire, half human, born with the powers of a vampire, but without their weaknesses. (I'm quoting from the gamebook.) She becomes an agent for the Brimstone Society, & protects humanity from things that ordinary people shouldn't have to deal with. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
This is set in 1932, & Rayne has to stop the Nazis from dominationg the world using supernatural evils. She travels through the eerie swamps of Louisiana (which is where I am in the game), to Argentina & Germany.
It's 3rd person action, which I prefer, & the controls are quite similar to Lara's. Did I mention that because she is a vampire, she has to feed on blood? http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif Bit gory, probably not recommended for young kids, but you're probably old enough to handle it ok, John.
The graphics are excellent too.

The game is just another DMC wanna-be thats just can't get close to DMC. If there's a game that truely gets close to DMC, its CastleVania:LoI, and even thats better than BloodRayne.

What's DMC?

Devil May Cry

I haven't played either Devil May Cry or CastleVania, but they are 2 to keep in mind. Are they PC?
In the meantime, I am loving BloodRayne! :D

Glad you're enjoying it Taz. As for Devil May Cry and Castlevania, no, they are not PC. I haven't played Devil May Cry myself, but I have played Castlevania (I have two Castlevania games for GB Advance), and those are great games. There is another popular series for PC however, Legacy of Kain, I haven't played it but seems to be in the same style as Castlevania. Can anyone confirm this?

Pirates are still singing, John. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif I haven't gone any further with either of those games: Holmes is a little boring (ok if you're really desperate for something to play), & I haven't spent enough time with Pirates yet to know the controls.
