Why do you make threads that contribute practically nothing to the forum?
It's pretty much spam.

Seriously.

Sometimes if i wanted to do a similar subject like this in OC
i would make a dead thread ... no one will reply for hours.

so i took the instinctive and made a thread to something
people can find + post = Discuss about.

if not. you all can Spam the thread then let is be locked

like all the time.

I personally do not see anything wrong with having a thread about posting strange facts that people may or may not know. All of you have said this thread is "spam" is just contributing to the spam by not posting anything topic related.

BTW@ Catracoth-half the threads on this forum serve no absoulte purpose, so no need to hate.

So, here is my random fact of the day. :p

"According to suicide statistics, Monday is the favored day for self-destruction."

No one's hating on anything.
I'm just saying, I don't see a point to this thread.
The OP barely explains what the thread is about.
Maybe improving the opening post would be best.

Did you even really take into consideration what Catracoth was saying? Or did you just feel like butting in for fun?

The opening post doesn't even say to post anything ourselves and is pretty much just a pic and Lance saying something about it. How are we supposed to know what the thread is about when there is NOTHING in the opening post telling us? It comes off as spam to be quite honest.

Until he died in 2007, France’s Michel Lotito had eaten two pounds of metal every day for more than 40 years, and he still holds the Guinness record for the world’s “strangest diet.” To cement his title, he dismantled a 1,111-pound Cessna 150 airplane and ate it — piece by piece — over two years.

Maybe you do not see a point to the thread, but some others may think it is interesting. I do agree that the OP does not explain in detail what the thread is asking for, but instead of telling me that, why not tell the person who created the thread? Try being considerate and make the thread useful instead of "this is spam" or "This thread is pointless". :p

Did you even really take into consideration what Catracoth was saying? Or did you just feel like butting in for fun?

I agree.

Yes, I do understand what Catracoth was saying in his most RECENT post, however is first post was just saying the thread was pointless. As I told him above, instead of saying how pointless and useless a thread is, and instead of telling me that the OP could be edited to go into detail about what the thread is about, he or you could tell the person who made the OP. If you want to help, then do so. Do not sit around and complain. This is how I interpreted the thread, mainly because it seemed like the most logical reasoning for it. If you use your brain every now and again, it might help. I see the thread as a thread to post interesting facts that may be unknown, which clearly the OP did. I do agree it should go into more detial about what it is about, but tell him that not me.

@Lance-Some of the other forum members feel it is best if you would edit your OP. From what I got out of what you posted it is that you want people to post interesting and unknown facts. If that is true, then please edit the OP saying so. Thank you and it would help out a lot of others who are unsure of what the thread is for. :)

It's not about using one's brain (thanks for being a condescending little punk btw, maybe you should jump off the high horse), it's about the OP actually giving detail into what we are discussing. It's like some starting a thread with just a picture in the opening post and not explaining anything about. Ok? Cool? What exactly did you want to tell us with this picture? Instead of trying to be a mini-mod, maybe you should learn how to talk to people without trying to sound superior.

Now you are just name calling and creating more spam instead of contributing to the thread...again. And do you always need to be told what to what to post? If you think about it, the OP is pretty clear. What else would he want us to post if not random facts? And no, I am not trying to be a mini-mod, I am just sick of all the judgemental, bias, and hate toward other people, without any sort of kindness or help. I am sorry if I offended you, but you were and are still not helping the person who created the thread to make it more detailed.

Common sense evidently isn't that common, since you still got the thread topic wrong.
It's allegedly a thread to post pictures for people to guess if it's true or false.

Carbonek_0051
17-08-11, 04:52
^True facts yo.
Whoa, for a second, my first thought was "When did Ward Dragon enter the thread?"

I lol'd

Anyway, because now I know what the topic is about because the wise amd mighty CiaKonwerski has opened my eyes. Let's see if you guy's can tell me if this is fact or not:

Disneyland opened on July 17, 1955. Temperatures soared to over 100 degrees Farenheit that day. The asphalt, which had just been laid the night before hadn't dried completely, and it is said that ladies' high heel shoes sunk into the tar. More than twice the number of invited guests showed up at the park that day due to widespread counterfeiting of the tickets. Rides broke down and food and drink ran out. Other mishaps and malfunctions such as a gas leak near Sleeping Beauty's Castle occured as well.

Despite the problems, guests loved the park, and attendance continued to grow. Less than 2 months later, Disneyland welcomed its 1 millionth guest. Disneyland is now a world renowned theme park and receives millions of guests each year.

False.

LMAO! Nope, it's fact. :p

And yet you guys are posting nothing but facts? Why not just call it the fun fact thread? The thread title is misleading and insinuates that we have to guess if it's true or not. Which clearly we do not with those pics.

CiaKonwerski
17-08-11, 04:55

This. If that were the case Cat then why would he put up a picture saying "Did You Know"? Usually when something starts off saying "Did you know"? It is usually true. I believe he just wanted us to say whether we thought it was or not, and to post other unknown possible facts.

Catracoth
17-08-11, 04:56
Well if this is a true or false thread, I want a turn!
True or false: Hilary Duff is pregnant.

I believe he just wanted us to say whether we thought it was or not...

Anyone else smell a contradiction?

That is true...but anyway, did any of you bother even asking what the thread was about or did you all simply run your mouths spouting how pointless it is?

@Cat- How was that a Contradiction?.I do not believe Lance knows fully what he posted. I believe it is true, but he may think some of you do not. See where I am going with this? He does not really want us to "guess" true or false, he mainly posted "fact or not" possibly meaning, can we really believe it sort of deals... similar ot a "Believe it or not"-That is the vibe I got anyway.

Rule of thumb: threads should be pretty self-explanatory. Otherwise, that's what the opening post is for. If things aren't made clear, people are going to run, jump, hop, skip, and dance like children on meth while they try and figure it out. Now that I know what the thread is about, I find it is only .00451% less pointless.

There are enough game threads floating about. :p

Read my edited post above, this is not really a game thread. He made the OP making it a sort of , Believe it or Not type of thread. Then he posted a picture of something that is a fact. He wants to know if we can really believe that, he does not want us to just go about posting true or false questions. More like unbelievable facts. If that was not the case, he would have said something about this not being what the thread is about when he commented on Hollister's post.

I am not sure.

Anyway, the OP has been edited, and as I thought...that it what Lance wants us to do. Post interesting, weird facts that other members on the forum may not know and discuss them. This thread can stay open. :p
@Lance-No need to name call, you probably should have gone into a bit more detail at first post. :)

To get us back on track, here is another fact.

The Aral Sea was once the world’s fourth-largest saline body of water, it has been steadily shrinking since the 1960s, after the rivers that fed it were diverted by Soviet Union irrigation projects. By 2004, the sea had shrunk to 25% of its original surface area, and a nearly fivefold increase in salinity had killed most of its natural flora and fauna
