:vlol: I meant the card game, Magic the Gathering.

Although I do know a couple of tricks. ;)

Shoulda put that in the title, no?

I've heard of Magic the Gathering, but never played it. My card playing games are over I think.

Shoulda put that in the title, no?I thought leaving it like that would make it more provocative.

Sadly, I think it has the opposite effect.

I used to play, I still have my cards from like 9 years ago lol

I never played in competitions, only against my friends.

It gets expensive if you want to be good in comps, or even if you only collect the cards lol

Do you remember what kind of deck you ran?

Do you remember what kind of deck you ran?

Honestly I could not say if I was running a specific "type" of deck, pretty much the best cards I had with some lands :p At one time I tried to build an Elf deck, it was fun but I abandoned the idea not too soon after.

I always played more with Whites and Greens, dunno why. My current deck, which is the same as when I stopped, is of those colors. It is sucky though lol

I remember when we played at school, some guy had found a way to have infinite mana, when he casted an infinite damage fireball and you couldn't stop it, you were fried lol.

I also learned they removed mana burn from the rules. I was surprised when I heared that.

I played it a lot in the last years of primary school :) then through "gymnasium" (think college) we stopped playing, going different places and all, then when I started university, I found two others in my main class that played it and an old friend from the late childhood had moved to Århus too, so we had a few matches again :) it's been a couple of years since we stopped playing, though. I think it was because I won 80 % of the times we were 1 on 1 :p and when it was 3 of us, the other two would mostly attack me and then turn on each other once I was dead :D but still good fun!

I think my favourite deck was a black and white Clerics deck. Basically I had a lot of Clerics, a few enchantments to boost creature type (I mostly played with, uh, well I don't know the official words for it, but the blocks that consisted of Onslaught, Judgment and Odyssey (among others) - many of them had a focus on creature type), and sorceries and instants to keep my Clerics in play (Breath of Life for instance).

I was primarily weak against artifacts and enchantments. My deck was already too big, so I didn't want to make it worse by adding a couple of "Destroy target enchantment." cards. Instead, I used creatures like Dawning Purist (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=39711), giving him Unquestioned Authority (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=24541) if my opponent has too much defence. I also loved using a combination of Unquestioned Authority and Cabal Executioner (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=39851) - that was a lethal mix and much joy has come from it :D

Other key parts of my deck included Sigil of the New Dawn (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=39605) and Doubtless One (http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=39743) :) all in all, a fun deck to play!

Wouw, that was a nerdy moment... Better go, uh, pick some grapes... or... what do normal people do again?

I respect that. I only know one person who still plays cards from the Odyssey days.

Most of the kids I play with don't know anything past Alara.

Anyway to those who currently play...

What do you think of the upcoming block?
