Deep in the Bolivian Jungle, an ancient tribe worshipped the baboon. They believed that they were a sacred animal, and that it would be punishable by death to harm one. The tribe elder, a shaman, ordered the tribe to build a temple in honour of these sacred animals.
However during one of her meditations, the shaman had a vision, in this vision a baboon cloaked in silver light appeared to her, and spoke words of great wisdom. Once emerging from this dream she immediately wanted a adornment to this baboon made, to take center place in this temple.
However, years later, the tribe still remained, advised by the silver baboon. However, when Europeans came to America to settle, they soon located the small tribe, and sold most into slavery, and began to pillage the temple.
The shaman at the time, a much wiser shaman than the one who had constructed this temple, knew the only way to protect their god was to cast a spell over the temple, which she did. This spell killed the settlers, preserving their temple, but the consequence of the spell was that the caster would die also. Without the shaman to guide them, the rest of the tribe quickly
died off. Myths tell that the angry souls of the tribesmen haunt the hallowed halls of the temple of the Lost Baboon.
The ancient temple has remained untouched for centuries.
Until now.

Some of you may have noticed I have changed the name of my last project, (The Tomb of Ezekiel) to this, which I prefer tbh.
I know I've never released a TRNG level before, so I really want to make this good, which is why I'm taking my sweet time. :p
I know I'll get the answers to all my questions on here anyways.
Credits and such will be mentioned in the readme once the game is released.
Enjoy. I hope. :pi:
:wve:
Really great screens. Keep up the good work :tmb:
( I loved the fire pillar part :D )
This is indeed a way better name :)
Wow, this looks really good. :tmb: The texturing is very nicely done, the lighting looks good, and it looks like there's going to be some fun gameplay too - love the fire pillars. :)

It's looking really nice! :D
I can tell you are putting A LOT of work into the texturing, which I love!
So far so good! :tmb:
The screens have great lighting and atmosphere, well done. :tmb:
I'm loving what I see here. Every screen oozes with atmosphere. :tmb:
:tmb: What are that underwater heads about? A sink sucking Lara into their mouths, where some kind of spiky teeth await to chew her? :D :D
^
That would be a rather cool trap! :vlol:
Looking good Flo! :tmb:
Good atmosphere and also different kinds of atmosphere (cool looking and hot/warm looking.)

Why is it unimpressive? O:
I like it :D
It reminds me of my own level, you know, with the trapdoor and waterfall?.

Poor monkey :o
Goodlooking screen :tmb:
But where the waterfall came from ? You can use another room or just grid the wall and add the texture from Angkor Wat , You know that texture which was used to be the waterfall source :)

The monkey likes it there. :D
And I get what you mean. I might even take it out tbh. I don't like it.
Give me now :D
:o
You could use a waterfall object instead and add a little crack in the wall or ceiling and make the waterfall come out of it.
With the room looking like it did not used to be flooded at first it kinda makes sense to have some water falling into the room somehow.
The nice thing about an object is that you could also make it very narrow, so it is more of a gentle stream than a waterfall. :D

I'm not very good at making objects though. :(
Would there be an existing version of something like that you would know of?
I actually know of a person, but he didn't reply to my PM. >.<

Thanks you two. :)
TheTiger has very kindly made me an absolutely gorgeous waterfall, to take place of that waterfall in the previous two screens, its like four little streams, which looks far better. (As Titak suggested) I'll get a screen up as soon as I can of it.
Again thanks for all your constructive criticism. :D
The new screens look great. Well done. :tmb:

It's a simple door unfortunatley. :(
You can always make it un-simple :D I like what You did so far. But I have another watery question: is its surface shiny for some particular reason?
It looks like it is shiny because, my guess, the watertexture probably isn't completely transparant in most places.
As long as a texture is not completely black it will not be completely transparant and the engine (or whatever) makes it look lighter than it really is.
That's also why you have to use very dark textures for the surface of a mirror for example if you want the mirror room to look as dark as or darker than the room Lara is in. Cause even making the mirrorroom a lot darker with darker lighting will not make it look dark when the glass texture is very light.
When a light texture is then combined with a fairly light room (like that waterroom) it will look shiny.

Is that bad? :p
No, not at all.
If it fits the whole atmosphere, there's nothing wrong with a lighter watertexture. :D
I meant the water seems to be glowing in the dark. It should not, unless You want to go surreal, or unless there is an opening in the ceiling.

I allready know how to finish the first part since i tested it before, but i wonder what the next parts of the level is... :jmp:
OK so I'm a tester? Cool! :jmp: Please don't be annoyed if I keep asking for help and if I don't give really good tips :o. Really looking forward to it! :jmp:

You always have other testers that could help ;)
True that :)
What to do if you want to become temporarily a tester?
Do you want to be a tester? All you have to do is ask if you want to test it. I think it's only for that level though but I don't know because I never tested before. Try asking someone else :)
