Congrats tlr.
You're officially no.1 spam reciever. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Did you report it to Yahoo yet?

You should use one account for general registrations at un-trustworthy and potentially spammy sites that you intend never to need to check, and another for sending emails to friends/clients/other people who you trust not to spam you. And you never hand out that account's address publicly, so I'm guessing most of that stuff is coming from spamworthy sites you've registered at. Update your spam definitions? O_o

How can you have so much messages? Doesn't Inbox space run out?

Well if you actually checked some of them you'd discover that they are not all spam.

That figure isn't that much different from the last check you posted. That one was 8,000 odd too.

Lemme guess. The Draft and Sent boxes are just as empty as the Bulk and Trash. This Yahoo account of yours, is just for a 'collecting' reason. A form of Modern Art. Once you'll open an exhibition with the harvest.

It all depends on when you last checked your email account I suppose. I get something like 120 spam mails a day, some are Junk Mail (like 'make your ***** 6" longer today with this miricle cream' or 'get credit loans from us, and watch your debts go away' kinda things), a good number are from people who hate me.. but the majority is from this one company 'myOffers.co.uk', I think I've finally setup a Junk Mail rule for it in Outlook (took one hell of alot of scripting) that finally catches every damn one. Some slip through because they use so many damn servers.

I did used to try to unsubscribe each time I got one before deleting but I've found you do that and although it gets rid of that one it generally is replaced by 3 from thier subsiduaries.

If you ask me, Junk Mail (and Unsolicited calls) are out of control now!
I feel that my privacy as an individual, and the ability to have a personal 'Home, Telephone, and Email' Address has becomming unfeasible dream.

Not to mention there are so many retarded Virus attacks now, which are no longer just on the internet but even on cell phones now!

How much longer do we have to put up with the **** of getting countless mail, and phonecalls that are just wasting paper and electricity in every damn country!!

Advertisement through bombardment. It is getting sickening, and I think it's about damn time the government took action against it..

LOL! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif Poor Justin! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif You need to put a check-mark next to those and then click the SPAM button. Or are you doing this for entertainment value? 'Cause it's quite entertaining. :D Sorry if it's very serious to you. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif

I've learned not to even open the mail I suspect to be spam. They may contain graphics that can go back to the sender and that way they know that someone is at the address, then that gives them the go ahead to send more as well as their affliates and other spammers.

I usually get around/about 30 or less a day in my Bulk yahoo mail. In the past I have blocked email addresses. I think I'll take off all the blocks and see if I get anymore spam in my in-box. I think I've done well to prevent a lot of spam getting to my inbox. Also I don't submit my email to questionable sites etc. Or display my email address in my profile in any of the other forums I frequent. There's something called Spiders or something that search out emails and from what I understand they can get those off of BBs and forums.

The only thing that had me a bit freaked out was these stupid 419 Nigerian Scams. Epsecially when they were using my 'NICK NAME' in the email scams they were sending me. I was furious! How in the (blank) could they know my Nick-name? I've never used it anywhere on line. (It's a variation on my middle name). Only my first and last name have been used online. So, again, I was freaked out at how they could've found out my nick-name. Maybe it was voodoo magic er sumthing.

I get very little spam on my Big Pond they have pretty good spam filters and it is all automatic, I don't have to do a thing. The only ones that have been sneaking through are Nigerian Scams and some rubbish about viagra, valium etc. I don't even read them just send them to rubbish and delete them.

I don't generally get spam myself. I mainly use my hotmail account and i hardly get any, if any at all.

Although if you check Gmail you do get those advertisement emails.

Hi Sparky http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/hug.gif I have been floating around just haven't had too much to say. I also have been very busy. See FAO tlr thread. Doing my Family Tree has been keeping me very busy. Things are starting to calm down now as our Annual Bird Show is on Sunday, entries are in, cage stickers are sent out. All I have to do now is print the Place Cards in advance, we have a back up laptop in case anything goes wrong with mine, 2 printers set up and ready to go. (We have computerised the show this year) Instead of more than 5 days writing basically only done 1 day punching and from them on everything is automatic. And we don't have half a dozen people writing for at least 5 hours on Sunday. Makes life alot easier. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

Somehow my spam count remains at two. If I delete them both, two more appear the next day. If I don't delete them, the count still remains at two.
