Does anyone here, other than me, read Forgotten Realms novels? I hope so. No-one I know does. -_-;

I do. The "War of the Spider Queen" series is my favourite. I also like Elaine Cunningham's "Starlight and Shadows", as well as R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt novels http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

Which are your favourites?

yay! Another reader! Yeah. Salvatore does great novels. ^_^
Everyone seems to love Drizzt.
Have you read the Icewind Dale trilogy?

Yes, I read all the Drizzt books :D "Icewind Dale" had a great sense of adventure, it was almost like playing a game :D Well, actually there IS a computer game about it, only it takes place some 100 years before Drizzt and explains how the Crenshinibon ended up in Icewind Dale. A great game, I recommend it if you're into RPGs. Has the best villain of all time http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

My favourite Drizzt books would be those from the "Dark Elf Trilogy", you can see I'm a big fan of the drow http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif He is such a cool character, and compared to most fantasy heroes I find him quite believable. What he does isn't realistic and shouldn't be, but his character does seem quite real.

Lol. Another Drizzt fan. ^_^
Yeah, I must admit, Drizzt is really cool. It's nice to see a non-dark Dark Elf...however weird that sounds. Lol.
Have you read...er....whatchamacallit....the Silent Blade?

If you like books about unconventional drow, I think you'd like E. Cunningham's "Starlight and Shadows". Or have you read it already?

About "Silent Blade", yes I read it years ago, it wasn't quite one of my favourites at that time (along with its sequel "Spine of the World"). It was just...well, more medieval life and less fantasy and magic. I was all about fantasy and magic back then http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif But I was thinking about reading it again one of these days, I think it's definitely a more complex book than the others and that I'd appreciate it more now.

Another thing I have to add, while I do admire Drizzt a lot, he's still not my absolutely favourite character. Jarlaxle is :D Have you read "Servant of the Shard"? It's all about him and Artemis Entreri - an unlikely alliance if there ever was one, and so much fun to read about :D

Lucky, I've been looking all over my book stores for Silent Blade but to no avail..-Tear-
I might have to resort to.....the library....lol.
Ah, so Jarlaxle is your fav, then?
Oh! Do you ever go onto Fanfiction.net to read some of the Forgotten Realms fanfics?

Have you tried Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com)? They have all the books.

I don't usually read fanfiction much, but the best fanfic I ever read was about Planescape (it's another setting, the "other" worlds of Forgotten Realms like Abyss, Baator etc. are all parts of it). It's a great setting for playing, but novels about it aren't very good. That fanfic, "Fire and Dust" was actually written by a professional writer and is better than all the offical novels. If you'd like to read it, here's the link:
