Ferrari unveil F2005 in Marenello
Ferrari have finally launched the car they hope will win them a seventh consecutive Formula One constructors’ championship. The F2005 will make its race debut at the Spanish Grand Prix on May 8, with the team planning to use the interim F2004 M until then.
After 2 min ->
Impressive, huh!? http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif
Nice... (although im not a schuy fan)... still... very nice...
Hey Apofiss - did you see Webber drive his F1 on the Sydney harbour bridge!?!?!?!... they shut down the bridge just so he could drive up and back a couple of times - and it was sooo coool... OMG it was fantastic...
Beautifull Ferrari car:D
I'll hope it'll win again...
I hate to disappoint you but I have heard that Schumacher will not be driving the new car on the weekend. He is still driving the old one.

And yes, Ferrari will use old (with few upgrades) car, new car they'll use later this sesion.
Australian Grand Prix Preview
New rules, new drivers and a new team for round one
The major technical change is a significant reduction in downforce, due to the higher position of the front wing, movement of the rear wing forward and reduction in the size of the diffuser. The net result is less grip, anything up to 20 percent according to some teams. Nobody is admitting to having recovered all of that yet, with their latest aerodynamic solutions, but the signs are that lap times may not be noticeably different by mid-season. read more (http://www.formula1.com/race/news/2637/732.html)
The teams at a glance:
Ferrari: Michael Schumacher and Ferrari are adamant that they will be off the pace in Melbourne, and certainly the laps times of the modified F2004 have not been in the same league as McLaren’s and Renault’s in testing, but you underestimate the red team at your peril. Schumacher in particular is good at conning his rivals. He and the faithful Rubens Barrichello are one of the strongest pairings in the business, and the team’s inherent reliability should see them at least score points even if they can’t fight for wins until the new F2005 is ready to race. read more about rest teams (http://www.formula1.com/race/news/2637/732.html)

Looking forward to this weekend's Grand Prix! Be interesting to see whether Ferrari still have the upper hand. I'm still routing for Schumacher!
As I speak I am watching the first day of practice. Schumacher has already done a blistering lap but with the new rules the speed of all the cars are down. Although I have just heard Schumacher is about number 8 in lap times. Michael since jumped to top but De la Rosa has just knocked him off with a 1.23 this is now a qualifying round. Raikkonen now second and Michael is 4th.

Court grants Minardi injunction
Team to compete in Aussie GP qualifying
Formula One team Minardi was late Friday granted a court injunction to compete in qualifying sessions for the season-opening Australian Grand Prix after race officials had ordered them to comply with new regulations.
A judge in the Victorian Supreme Court ruled that the F1 minnows could participate in Saturday qualifying given that the matter was considered urgent. read more (http://f1.racing-live.com/en/index.html)

1 day - 8 hrs left till LIGHTS OFF!
Minardi have worked through the night and have now 2 cars that will comply with the new rules. They do not know yet how well they will go.
It's 9am Saturday and its raining in Melbourne.
http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif YES!! Now I've got a good excuse this weekend to stay up late and drink some Fosters into the night!
I only get 1 weekend off every 6 weeks (work 4 on 2 off rota) so im gonna make the most of it :D
Hey Tramp! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
If rain wont stop after 5 hours then qualification may be very interesting under these circs!
Hi Apofiss rain is predicted for most of the day. Michaels car are only now putting tyres on the car. Already been a couple of spins. Minardi has been out for its first run but they haven't told us yet how they have gone.
Hey why am I the only female on this thread?
Henhead I'll be there with you only at a decent hour of the day and I'll have a Tooheys instead. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
Whoa Webber just had a great spin on turn 11. Luckily didn't hit anything and missed the gravel. Boy it's slippery out there. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif

Being an Aussie I would really like Webber to win. But I can still appreciate Michael is just such a brilliant driver. I like Villineuve but still hope Webber wins.
OK! This is it! After 5 hours and few minutes lights are off! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif
Live telecast has just started. Weather forecast is showers clearing. Only time I will leave the TV will be for food and pit stops and only during ad breaks. Will keep you updated. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
Cool! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif (have to go sleep now...only 4 hours of sweet dreams and quickly waking up to be ready http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/clown.gif )
Unconfirmed report that there has been an engine change overnight for Michael Schumacher. Qualifying is just about to start, it appears that a large amount of seagulls on one of the turns is holding things up.
The engine change has been confirmed which means Michael will be at the back of the grid.
It appears as if most of those at the back of the grid are only going out for one set up lap and are not trying to re-qualify as it will effect their fuel but won't really improve their positions on the grid. Ralf Schumacher is the first one to do a fast lap.
We're getting live coverage in about 30 mins. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
So far Justin the weather is fine Michael is in 18th position on the grid. Should be an interesting race. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
Evening all, not long to go! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif
TV station website said Michael was 18th it appears he is 19th position.
Out on their warm up lap now. Evening Henhead.
LOL delayed start Raikkonen, has to start from the pit lane, he has stalled!
Raikenen car stalls on the grid now an extra positioning lap he will start from pit lane.
Have any of you got the live timing pages running, you can run it from HERE (http://www.formula1.com/race/livetiming/732.html)
Its got an upto date order and timings for each sector, and some other interesting info as well. It automatically updates itself.
Schuey up to 15. Carving his way though the field nicely.
Could get rain. Clouds in the background.
Dont like the look of them clouds
Henhead we really have to stop these double posts people might think we have ESP.
Did I just hear Shuey up to 12th. No he's still at 15th.

Hope Apofiss is awake and hasn't slept in.
Looks like Michael is up to 10th. Justin will be pleased.
Don’t you just hate adverts during the race, preferred it when BBC had coverage
He jumped up 5 places inbetween laps 18 - 22
At least the adverts allow you to have a pitstop.
Yeah. I prefer BBC coverage too!
Bad new Justin he has slipped a place now at 11th.
Looks like Coulthard could pull back the gap, and go onto to win, in my opinion,
Ah, his sector times have now dropped, he is not eating up the track, as he was doin, the times are almost identical
Webber just done his final pit stop. Michael up to 9th.
7th now. just behin Webber, schu has to pit stop yet tho.
*Fisichella out *
*Schu is out*

Shuey parked in the garage out of the car. Sorry Justin.
cant keep up! Fisichella back in and leading!
Coulthard now 4th
Sorry - could not resist!
Looks like Shuey was at fault. Henfeld very unhappy has just come in the back of pits. (Looks like the Ferrari pits.)
Good race, bit disappointed in Coulthard's ending position, after holding 2nd for most of the race. Well done to Fisichella had a very good race
btw tlr what does this mean ...
Please wait. Load balancing.

-Schuey is now allowed to change his engine before malaysia giving him a better chance... bugger.
This should make for a great F1 season... What an interesting and fantastic first race... Well done Australia i recon ;)
Hey Duffman! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

Schumacher cautiously optimistic
Schumacher started 18th on the grid after falling prey to the weather in qualifying and then struggled to rise through the field in the opening stages of the race. He moved into a point-scoring position shortly before his collision with the Williams of Nick Heidfeld on lap 42.
However, in spite of his misfortune, the German insisted he was encouraged by the team’s overall showing with their interim F2004 M car, which saw them come away with eight points. Renault, with their all-new R25 machine, took 16.
“Everybody knew that Renault were very good,” Schumacher said. “It was clear after the winter tests and so I wasn’t surprised at all. But to be completely honest, I thought we would have been much further back.
“The fact that Rubens (Barrichello), from 11th, ended in second, is the proof that last year’s model is still very competitive. This gives me a good feeling for the next few races. I thought we would have been less competitive.”
Schumacher warned, though, that it would be dangerous to make any firm predictions on the basis of one race, especially the Australian one: “We have to take into account that the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne is not really a track on which you can judge the relative strengths of the different teams.”
Ferrari are expected to introduce their new F2005 car at May's Spanish Grand Prix in May, though an earlier debut has not been ruled out if testing goes well.
