But in my opinion Gimme More is better.
I think these two are considered timeless to a lot of people.

Mrs. Robinson for me...

It's not necessarily timeless in general, but specifically to me.
I'm not sure why when I think back on this, but as my grandpa was in the hospital, inevitably dying and that night too, we brought a CD player and some music. The CD which was playing was Simon and Garfunkel, but it was a tribute with other people singing and playing the music, however you almost couldn't tell except for the slight lack of quirk in the melody. Anyways, this specific song doesn't bring me back to that night, another one does. However, this song takes me right away into spring, a season I never used to like. I was always in love with the Fall. When I look back, my change in seasonal preference made lots of sense, I began to change from a dying person (dramatic) who liked to wallow in lifelessness, to someone who suddenly loved the thawing world and the treasures it would bring. The spring was always too "happy" too me. But something changed about it, the way I saw it. Perhaps part of the change was due to the numerous treks made by me and my family up to the hospital on early spring afternoons, this was also the year I began standing in front of the window, as like...a hobby. This song literally places me in that spring environment right when it plays. So odd, it has nothing to do with the content of the song, but it's association, and I think that it will forever feel this way to me, and I'm glad.
There's nothing sad about it, it just feels good. Not like I'm on the verge of some new part of my life, or like I'm dying, I just feel suddenly relaxed and okay.
Oh, also thawing mud is what this reminds me of, thawing mud with grass and the odd small patch of dirty snow waiting to be gone, and Valentine's Day.
Mrs. Robinson for me...
Goddamn.
My admiration. Take all of it.

Its just so good. I could also have posted Frozen or Ray of Light, both equally as perfect. :D

Again, I could have posted Goldfrapps entire discography. They are my favourite band, and this song is excellent. Also: Strict Machine, Lovely Head, Train, the entire Seventh Tree album (their best).

I'd like to second Simon & Garfunkel. Their Greatest Hits album is essential.
Pink Floyd - The Dark Side of the Moon & Wish You Were Here
The whole albums. Seriously, they are perfect in ways few albums are.
