Well... as a Nintendo fan, I feel it is my duty to really just laugh at all the Playstation 2 owners who are hoping to get thier grubby little hands on Resident Evil 4 this December.

The titles that is simply one of *the* most hardware demanding currently available, is set to go full Multiplatform.

While originally promised as a Gamecube exclusive, recent events before Christmas ment, a Playstation 2 version was put into production; and just a few weeks ago an X-Box version was also announced.

But it seems that not everything is going as smoothly as would be hoped. While I've been quite smug that the Playstation 2 wouldn't be able to match the Gamecube in the Shaders dept. I am more glad to hear that the game will be a mere shadow of what it is on the cube.

from what is said, it sounds like the engine is likely to be downgraded to something similar to MGS3, or FFX. While those games don't look too shabby, next to Resident Evil 4 for the Gamecube which puts even the remarkable Half-Life 2 and STALKER to shame in the graphics departments; it is going to be more about the gameplay than apperance.

Honestly speaking it is like playing the original Resident Evil after playing the remake.. might essencially be the same game, but you want it to look good in the process.

This is the first game to truely start to show the age of the Playstation 2 in terms of hardware. It is also a game that is very likely going to put to rest the question of which hardware is better... GameCube or X-Box. While the X-Box owners constantly lord a larger selection of titles with seemingly amazing graphics, we've yet to really see the GameCube pushed to it's limits, unlike the X-Box.

Hope that what follows shows developers constantly ignoring the GC was a poor decision on thier part. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif

I remember when RE was meant to be Exclusive to PS.

Resident Evil was never a Playstation exclusive.. came out in japan for both PC and Playstation (same for europe), was America they *tested* the water.

Probably was to generate sales of the Playstation though, I mean it was released in '98

And Halo was supposed to be exclusive to that pathetic excuse for a console of the xbox... but look - it's a PC version!
heh. exclusive means nothing these days.
I'm glad I'm a cube, PS2 & Xbox owner. I can say that I never touch the Xbox... I mean seriously, I already have a top notch PC, why would I need a low end PC passed off as a console?

The last released Resident Evil on PC was 3rd, right? Why CAPCOM ended releases on PC? Was it so unprofitable or what? I was (I think I'm still) big fan of RE games (like the movie too) till RE3 Nemesis, well I don't had/have Game Cube or PS2 to play latest REs :(

At least KONAMI released Silent Hill series (except first one) on PC (thanks KONAMI).

Hey! When I was in England I saw NGC for 49.99 pounds...it's not expensive thought. Was it so cheap for a limited time or... (?) Here NGC costs 99.99 pounds and it's not funny any more.
(have to find some NGC emulator or something)

I got robbed and all my PS2 titles, and my loverly silver PS2 got robbed, so i canno longer play this, looks like i am borrowing my little sisters PS2 wen TR7 comes out. Its a shame i had a true collection of PS2 games, around 85 and they just took them. Sods,
