We have broadband, Wiimax, modem internet connections in our country. I have a broadband line here in my place. My connection speed is 128kbps(16KiloByte per second). It cost me $10 per month. We have 1mbps & 2mbps connection here too. 2mbps is maximum limit for local users in my country. 1mbps costs $35-$40 and 2mbps costs almost double of it. Just curious to know how much it costs in other countries!

So how much 'Internet' cost in your place and what is your internet speed? :)

in Puerto Rico here Costs vary depending on the Company and where i want to Install the internet into for example the Phone Internet is rather more expensive than the Home Network Internet since the Home internet can have free installation and i pay 25$ a Month.
Some Internet connections are worth up to 45$ Dollars Monthly ( I think those are packages though )

I have Virgin Fiber Optic or something with is 25/mo for up to 50Mb connection (It'll be boosted to 100Mb if they roll that out here next month). It's faaast.

Although I think it's pretty cheap here in general in the UK, we used to have a 8Mb connection with O2 which was around 5/mo I think.

Same. In my area, it's either that or get dial-up. And then I'd have to pay to have a phone line again. Might as well pay a nickel more and go first class!

What is your internet speed?
I can only tell you my internet speed from my uni room is:

Download: 40.05 mb/s

Upload: 2.46 mb/s

I am connected to the internet via an ethernet card/cable.

Pretty decent though, considering the price I am paying for this room per semester. :)

NRO.

Cable TV + Cable Phone + Cable Internet (100GB Bandwidth @ 10mbps) = $22
There's also an unlimited bandwidth and unlimited download speed cable internet only, which costs $65 :D

I'd have to ask my wife to know the exact number, but I think it's about $45~$50/month. No idea what the speed is.

I am. I also knew well enough to marry an accountant, so she handles all of the bill-paying. :D In regards to the speed, I'm not at home, so I can't check it. It's fast enough for me, whatever it is.

BT Infinity (Though their help service is ****, their hub they provide is **** and according to many they're rip-offs as well)

However, I do get good download & upload speeds :)

http://www.speedtest.net/result/0.png

*Seems like the numbers on Speedtest results aren't currently working or just not showing for me. Either way I did another test and got - Download: 38.71Mb/s & Upload: 8.30Mb/s

On average that, no bandwidth cap either so I can download & upload as much as I want :)

My dad has to pay about 26.?? a month combined with phone.

For now that's fine, might upgrade sometime around 2013-2014. Not that I'd need it, I just like upgrading my current technology from time to time :p

BT Infinity (Though their help service is ****, their hub they provide is **** and according to many they're rip-offs as well)

You need to get Sky Broadband, they are cheaper than BT Infinity and the speed of the internet is really fast, faster than my speed of 40.05 mb/s at uni. You get more for what you pay for on Sky Broadband. :)
Sky has the best broadband services in the whole of the UK, imo.

It seems like countries in the UK and EU have more internet service options in general than in the U.S.

Wait, they've moved to fibre optics? As 30Mb/s and above is usually available though Fibre Optic, don't think you can achieve that very well through Copper Wires, but maybe I'm wrong?

Also from what I've been told it's compulsory to use their router, unlike with BT you can change their hub with a Netgear router. The thing is, their router must have the ability to assign Static IP's & have the ability to Port Forward.

Otherwise it's no use to me :/

I believe so fibre optics are slowly replacing copper wires around different areas of the UK slowly. I guess my uni has already upgraded to fibre optic wires.

That is the only only downside of Sky Broadband you have to use a Netgear router they provide, I think.. I am not 100% sure if you purchase the router or they give your the router as part of the package..

60 dollars a month for 80 gig. Not bad considering before it got upgraded it was 60 for 36 gig, blatant rip off before.

54.90 for unlimited 40mb/s

But its also for home phone and HD TV channels. It's a good deal I guess for the internet, but phone bills make it double.

Well this is great topic, lets make it in better way, can we have a poll too?

For me I am using a horrible internet connection, I having contract from years with them, just renew it on each year, it probably the best thing that I can get for it, so I won't change my ISP until really have a better option.

I have a 128kb DSL connection, cost me around 15$ per month, and it's an unlimited connection too.

For the same company, the price tablet:

128kb 15$ USD
256kb 20$ USD
512kb 30$ USD

Upper than these speed can't be taken by regular members, others can be get up to 1MB, 2MB and 4MB, plus again upper then 4MB is not given taken! You probably don't want to know about their price, it's pretty high!

The reason is ****ing regulation by my country governments that is meant of limited and censored internet in here, it's very shame, I know but we (regular members) can't do such things about it ...
