Michael Bay Confirms Transformers 4 Release Date

Following up on a story (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=87000) we posted earlier today about Transformers 4 (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=84926), director Michael Bay added the following confirmation on his official site (http://www.michaelbay.com/blog/files/1151a5b01c72685dd3aec0809b964f31-749.php):

There has been a lot of speculation about what I'm going to do next and when or if I will do another Transformers. So let me set the record straight.

I have just concluded a deal with Paramount to do two movies, but it won't be two Transformers.

I will first do 'Pain & Gain' with Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

Then I will do the next Transformers for release on June 29, 2014.

-Michael Bay

To reiterate, producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura told us earlier that "we're going to try to do a hybrid there where there will be some characters that come forward--we think, we're still in the process of figuring it out--and some characters that don't, but it will definitely be a different story."http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=87015

Transformers 4 Will Take Place Four Years After Dark of the Moon

http://sphotos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/74784_10151291966110808_175385717_n.jpg

In the wake of official word breaking (http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=96848) that Mark Wahlberg has signed on to headline the upcoming Transformers 4 (http://www.superherohype.com/heroes/transformers), director Michael Bay spoke with TMZ about the upcoming blockbuster, revealing that the new franchise entry will pick up four years after the events of Transformers: Dark of the Moon (http://www.comingsoon.net/films.php?id=59129).

"The movie is going to continue four years from the attack on Chicago," says Bay, "which was in the last movie. It's going to have the same lineage, but it's going in a full new direction. It actually feels very natural how it's going in that direction... We're doing a lot of things that are really going to make it fresh and feel new."

You can listen to the full interview, which includes details about how Wahlberg's casting came about, by clicking here (http://www.tmz.com/2012/11/09/tmz-live-ariel-winter-jonah-hill-don-lemon-lindsay-lohan-barbara-walters-mark-wahlberg-shia-labeouf-michael-bay-ronda-rousey/).

Transformers 4 (http://www.superherohype.com/heroes/transformers) will begin production in spring of 2013, targeting a June 27, 2014 release. The film will be produced by Don Murphy & Tom DeSanto, Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Ian Bryce, and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Bay, Brian Goldner and Mark Vahradian.

Oh for gods sake, yet another Transformers movie:rolleyes: Can't this franchise just die already? This is just one example of why I don't go to the cinema much these days. It's either all about sex, violence, explosions galore, remakes, reboots or a mix of the available options. When will the movie industry ever come up with something original again?

Actually I largely agree :)! I genuinely feel that his mother nearly ruined the entire film. The "humourous" scenes where PAINFUL and embarrassing! I loved the action in it though haha!!

I'm not big on the Transformers series and I've only seen 1 and 2 (didn't really like them). Though I have to say that the Dark of the Moon trailer was epic. My thoughts during the experience (I was in a cinema too):

"ooh this is dramatic. hmm yeea kewl. wh- whoa this is awesome. whoaaa... AWESOMENESS OMG MUST SEE- oh it's Transformers. :("

Transformers broke my heart. D:

Speaking of sacrifice, it's a shame cybertron got destroyed the way it did instead of giving us a chance to see it as a setting unlike some cartoons and comics did.

WOOOO BIG MOVIE!! WE DESTROY IT ALL FOR AWE AND BIG ESPLOSIONSSS!!! MICHAEL BAY ~ LOL! LOL! LOL!

It hardly looks new. I can barely stand they took Wahlberg to do it. From the trailer its like the first and the third movie combined, with fights taken from the second one, it just feels like the same stuff all over again.

I did not like he trailer, neither the story.

this has been done before in the previous ones.

The story so far reminds me of the Incredibles... We do not need these superheroes until something catastrophic happens and then... oy well, we were wrong,, we need your help.

Lame, lame, lame

I don't care. I just love watching the transformers. I find it very cool.

Of course, I won't be seeing it in theaters, but I will probably enjoy it at home. ;)
