So any games that you double dipped (as in buying the same title again)? Or triple, quadruple dipped? :p

Mine:

1. Mortal Kombat (2011) - I got it for PS3 with discount when it came out and I liked it a lot. Then recently they launched Mortal Kombat: The Komplete Kollection (PS3) with all the dlc bonuses, so I just had to get it. Again.

2. Batman Arkham Asylum - for 360 and PS3.

3. Silent Hill Origins - PS2 and PSP.

4. HD Collection : Sly, Jak & Daxter, Ico & Shadow Colossus, God of War, Metal Gear Solid, Silent Hill, Tomb Raider.

5. Chrono Trigger - PS1 and NDS.

-Final Fantasy VII and IX (I had copies, but they would scratch a lot. I have not bought final copies off of PSN, where they will remain forever unscathed. :D)

-Tomb Raider (Yeah...these used to get scratched too...)

-Chrono Cross

-Resident Evil 5 (Owned on 360, bought the gold version for the PS3)

-Uncharted 2 (Sold it so that I would have the money to buy the GOTY Edition haha).

Most of the games I bought over again were PS1 games.

Pretty much most TRs :p

More than a few games for various reasons (all PC versions). But by far the most of any individual game that I own is 13 copies of Tomb Raider (original classic). Seven of these are new and unopened in the trapezoid box. In addition I have 4 Tomb Raider II's (2 NIB), and 5 TR III (3 NIB).

I buy a lot of vintage and classic games on Ebay, but only if they are complete with good quality box.

Tomb Raider 1 (Lost my first copy)
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex (Nostalgia, which wasn't worth it)
Tomb Raider Anniversary (My PS2 broke, and Steam was having a really good deal on Eidos titles...)
Final Fantasy X (Both copies were gifted to me on the same day, except one didn't work :p)

Tomb Raider 2 and 3 (PC and PS)

Resident Evil 5 (PC and PS3)
Silent Hill Homecoming (PC and PS3)
Final Fantasy VIII (PS, PC and PSN)
Final Fantasy IX (PS and PSN)
Final Fantasy VII (PC and PSN)

I don't remember any other right now. I think that's it.

TR1, 2, and 3 - Got them all for PS1 back in the day, and then last year I bought all of them for PC, mostly because I wanted to play the Gold games that came with them (except for TR3, but I figured I might as well round off the classic trilogy :p).

TR4 - Bought a PS1 copy, it stopped working a few years ago so I got another one off Ebay.

TRU - Bought the PS2 version, realized it was utter crap, and then bought the Xbox360 version last year, which is significantly better.

Yeah... I think that's everything.

So yeah.

Mortal Kombat 2011 - Purchased original copy, then another copy came with my arcade stick. Spare probably doesn't hold much resale value anymore. (Got spare cards for it though)

Silent Hill 2 (PS2/XBOX) - Originally I beat it a few times and felt disappointed with the endings, then caught it again on xbox with Restless Dreams re-release.

Silent Hill 3 (PS2/PC) - I added the best port last year, superior to the HD collection (F you for that Konami!)

Dino Crisis (DC/PC) - Wanted PC for extras.

Resident evil 1 (PS1) - Traded later for Director's Cut, then picked up Dual Shock Edition. Music REALLY SUCKED!!, so went back with DC.

Resident Evil 2 (PS1/N64/DC) - Had fun with the original, upgraded to DC, got 64 version later because I liked the random mode, EX files, etc.

Resident Evil 3 (PS1/DC/PC) - Traded for DC, then added PC version later.

RE: Code Veronica (DC/PS2) - Keeping both versions for their differences.

Skies of Arcadia (DC/GCN) - Upgraded to GC so I could play the added content, regret pawning the original.

Soul Calibur 2 (GCN/XBOX) - XBOX was the best looking overall, had to get Link later. :)

Street Fighter 3rd Strike (DC/XBOX/PSN) - DC has version C, which is not the best and horizontal scaling is wrong. XBOX looks best, PSN to play online since M$ RageQuit Live. Mame is about the most accurate even though if it's not (officially) listed.

One (PS1) - Re-bought this 4 times already.

Apocalypse (PS1) - Re-bought this 3 times.

D2 (DC) - Wanted this back.

D (Saturn) - Wanted this back too.

Enemy Zero (Saturn/PC) - Both had their differences.

Quake 3 Arena (PC) - Note to self: Disk is not a frisbee... :cln:

I got underworld on PC when it came out, then last year i got an xbox so i bought it again for that to get the DLC and extra costumes. TRU feels more tomb raider in the classic outfit. :pi:

Angel of Darkness - PC/PS2

Well, I originally got Tomb Raider Legend on PS2 because I thought that the Xbox 360 version wasn't coming out for months (it came out on the same day) and when Legend came out, I had to stay at my relatives house with my parents/my sister and I did get to play it! Up until England! Which was fun.

But yeah, got back and found out it was released on X360 and there was a PSP port. I got the PSP port and then eventually the X360 version. Yay!

And then Tomb Raider Anniversary came out the day before my birthday, so I got that game for my birthday on PS2 and then eventually the Xbox version was released as DLC for Legend and then retail and so a year or so later, I got the dlc. Yay! :jmp:

tl;dr:
Tomb Raider - Legend: PS2 & X360
Tomb Raider - Anniversary: PS2 & X360

Tomb Raider 1/2/3 - got the PC version so I could play the extra levels.

Resident Evil 5 - bought the gold edition instead of the dlc.

Everything else are digital copies of PS1 games or HD collections.

Oblivion.

Bought it on PC, then Xbox 360 so I could play it on a big screen. Traded it in before buying it yet again. So I triple dipped that one. :)

I rarely do it as i don't believe in wasting money buying the same thing multiple times. However i do have these double dipped

Tomb Raider - PC, PS1, converted to a PSP eboot too (still own both)
Mafia - PC, PS2 (only own PC version now)
GTA SA - PC, PS2 (only own PC version now)
GTA - PC, PS1 (only own PC version now)

Ok i got the wrong meaning of this thread

TR 3 bought twice PS1
TR TLR bought twice PS1
MGS bought twice PS1
Parasite Eve II bought twice PS1
Resident Evil 3 bought twice PS1

Those are the only ones i rebought after getting rid of them the first time. :D

(I bought these again after I thought I'd lost my original copies)

Tomb Raider II
Tomb Raider III
Tomb Raider Chronicles
Morrowind

(I bought these after I got a 360 - I originally had them for PS2)

Tomb Raider Legend
Tomb Raider Anniversary

(Bought twice because old copies broke)

Oblivion (got the GOTY the second time)
Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness
Portal (had it for my PC, but it broke. So I downloaded it from Xbox Live)
Sims 3 (ended up getting the 360 version the second time. HUGE MISTAKE.)
Saints Row 2 (lent to my cousin. Came back with at least 20 new scratches. No more lending for him.)

(Consoles that broke)

As a bonus, I ended up getting 2 PS2s, because my original model just broke one day, so I got a PS2 slim for my birthday that year to replace it. Kind of justified though, since I ended up using it for a good 4 years after that.

God, I'm an incredibly spoiled child :p

--EDIT--

I also know of a future double dip I'll be making :p I'm saving up money for a PS3, and I've already decided that I'm getting Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2 for it. And then maybe the Tomb Raider Trilogy. The PS3 itself will lead to double dipping in DVDs too, since a lot of my favourite films have Blu-Ray versions...

Fallout 3, i bought it 4 times the normal edition when it first came out, then the special edition with the lunchbox, and then the GOTY edition for PS3, most recently i picked up the GOTY edition for PC .

Batman Arkham City, Robin edition and then the Collectors Edition.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Augmented Edition and then Deus Ex Human Revolution Collectors edition.

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, after my original copy of the game started going wonky, i bought it again.

Borderlands.

Metal Gear Solid 2 Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 3 Snake Eater, the original release and the HD re-release.

Resident Evil 4 one for Gamecube and the other for PS2.

Resident Evil 2 one for PS1 and one for Gamecube.

Resident Evil 5 PS3

The Orange Box PS3

Fallout New Vegas Collectors Edition PS3, when i got it i didn't really like it so i traded it in but kept the contents of the collectors edition, recently i bought the ultimate edition of New Vegas, it was cheaper to buy the game instore than pay for each individual piece of DLC.

Plus our Sony centre/shops here are useless.
