Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 release date confirmed

Start training that trigger finger for August...

Namco Bandai has stuck a date on City Interactive's Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2: August 21.

Other than being able to deliver bullets directly to faces, Ghost Warrior 2's biggest selling point is that it's made on CryEngine 3, so it might make you wet yourself a little when you lay eyes on it. According to Namco Bandai the game "delivers graphically stunning environments, more diverse sniper challenges, a rebuilt AI system."

Personally we're looking forward to shooting people in the privates and watching it play out in the one shot; one kill precision cam. We find that kind of stuff highly entertaining and won't apologise for it. Ever.http://www.computerandvideogames.com/344401/sniper-ghost-warrior-2-release-date-confirmed/

I really didn't expect a thread dedicated to a game by City Interactive to see the light of day here...

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 delayed to October

Namco Bandai confirms shooter sequel will miss previously targeted August launch

The UK release of Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/playstation-3/games/12317/sniper-ghost-warrior-2/) has been delayed from its previously announced (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/344401/sniper-ghost-warrior-2-release-date-confirmed/) August 21 launch date to October 9.

Publisher Namco Bandai confirmed the news to Eurogamer (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-07-06-sniper-ghost-warrior-2-now-set-for-october), but gave no reason for the delay to the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC sequel. The original Sniper: Ghost Warrior (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/xbox-360/fps/11504/sniper-ghost-warrior/) was poorly received, the PC version earning the highest average reviews with a Metascore of 55, but Xbox World previewed the sequel a couple of months ago and came away suitably impressed.

"With a range of accurately modelled sniper rifles (the Remington MSR, the Barrett Xm500 and the Accuracy International 50 to name a few), an addictive bullet cam rewarding perfect shots, and the use of CryEngine 3, Ghost Warrior 2 has a chance to knock the next CoD off its pedestal. From a couple of miles away," the mag said in its Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 preview (http://www.computerandvideogames.com/349028/previews/sniper-ghost-warrior-2-crytek-powered-shooter-takes-aim-at-call-of-duty/).

I thought this was released.

Or was that a demo? I remember someone being upset that it lost it's "Sniper" qualities, in favor of more "Shooter" mechanics.

Oh that is actually Sniper Elite V2. It was released on May 1, 2012. There's a thread of that title as well.

The publisher’s confirmed the news and said a statement’s on the way. Another delay, another new release date:
Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 gets solid March 12, 2013 release date

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2 developer City Interactive released a new trailer (http://www.vg247.com/2013/01/02/sniper-ghost-warrior-2-brutal-war-crimes-bosnia-trailer-now-available/) for its game last night along with a flaky ‘Q1 2013′ release window. However, a fresh statement from the studio solidifies its release.

The City Interactive statement (http://www.bankier.pl/wiadomosc/CITY-INTERACTIVE-S-A-Premiera-gry-Sniper-Ghost-Warrior-2-w-dniu12-marca-2013-roku-2712665.html#hyxq68qa41) confirms a March 12th 2013 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

The game also received a gameplay trailer back in November, showing off some rather pristine CryEngine 3 visuals. Check it out here (http://www.vg247.com/2012/11/26/sniper-ghost-warrior-2-gameplay-looks-cryengine-3-gorgeous/).
