i feel like everyones connotation of the word badass are different, i agree with Evan C. that she was more or less being defensive, not badass. I feel like a badass is doing the opposite of what you are told to do and being able to achieve what you wanted to do without consequences. i don't really see that here :p none the less i still love whats going on in the trailer

And besides, it's an origin story, it shows her *becoming* a badass, the end result inevitable is her becoming a badass. Just saying that she's not *right now* is just unnecessarily pointing out the obvious :p

I think it shows Lara has potential to become badass. It shows courage certainly, and it shows she is more than just badass, but a young woman who is willing to do stuff she may not have thought she was capable of.
