Evening all. Google appears to be experiencing technical problems with their ads, and this is causing some ads on our forum to hang and subsequently increase the page load time of threads. Apologies for the incon. Hopefully Google will rectify the problem ASAP. If it continues for much longer, I'll temporarily disable the ads.

Evening Mark. That's odd. Ads here are showing as "page cannot be displayed" or 404. Perhaps it's a routing problem. Anyone else having probs?

OMG, OMG! TLR has a connection error with Google! OMG! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Look around your firewall, maybe it has blocked the URL.

Hey... what's that rank picture? Shouldn't it be below the member number? Did you lose a star? :D

One IP registered 20 member accounts solely to attack my member rating, which has always been 5 stars in the five years this forum has existed. I knew this would happen at some point, because of my position here. Unfortunately I can't roll back member ratings. :(

Well yes, that's true. I'm not an admin.

22-02-05, 19:52
... but that doesn't mean I should take **** from some pro-Bush ******* bent on impugning my rating, does it?

Oh magic! Look what happens if you go to the members directory and search for the status "Administrator"... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif What am I seeing!?

Mark. I removed my public admin status sometime ago because I felt - since I enjoy a hearty debate on this forum - it inappropriate if I appear to "represent" the forum in an official capacity. Some might see that as me abusing my privileges here. I was also afraid that my being an administrator might prevent some folk from challenging me for fear of reprisal. (which would never have happened, but was still a concern of mine)

However, for security reasons (and since I am the legal owner of this forum) my private status remains unchanged.

Do you have a point, or are you just trying to annoy me?

No, that's not my purpouse. It's just that you say you are not an admin while you are. As some other things. ;)

No. Publicly, I am not an administrator here. Elen has total (and final) control of the forum. For security reasons, I have full access to all areas of the forum, which enables me to back up.. etc. This couldn't be achieved without full admin privileges. This is the only reason my "private" status remains unchanged. To be honest, I really didn't think anyone would be bored enough to search through private records to dig that kind of information up.

What you could argue, however, is that I have abused my privileges by removing my public rating (which was the victim of foul play) and replacing with a 5-star rating. That would be a fair argument, because I have indeed done just that.

However, I would counter that had my rating not been attacked by ONE member registering MULTIPLE accounts for the SOLE PURPOSE of reducing my public rating, I would not have needed to abuse my position.

You could argue the toss over that one all day. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Think that I'm enough time on this board to know you are/were an administrator. And... just to know I was not wrong with what I said, I looked on the *new feature* called Directory to make sure of my statement.

Shhhh...tlr online, if you don't have a member title (like Senior Forum Raider) then it's quite fishily (easy to say u.r.a) http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif (what about Bokkie, he has a full control over TRF too? http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/privateeye.gif )

Senior Forum Raider? Well it would be Master of the Tombs. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

I guess Bokkie is the TRC/TRF programmer so he needs to have full access to all the features.

Bokkie has full technical control over applications such as the SCU and other technical areas. As does Sim and Neteru, Joseph.. in fact, all of the moderators are responsible for governing our forum. This forum simply wouldn't exist without them, and that is a fact.

(Justin. Can I ask, how did that happened that you actually started to create TRF? http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/privateeye.gif ? Sorry I'm very curious http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif )

What does Bush have to do with your rating?

Pardon if I missed it.

23-02-05, 00:36
Hiya poeple, sorry to hear about the abuse to your rating.

I ro would like to know how the forums came about. Was it just a boredem idea or was it thought of, if that makes any sense at all.

23-02-05, 00:58
Boredom of course. Guys please, this is going way off topic don't you think. Starting a brand new thread with your questions and an apropriate subject-covering title like "Tlr, won't you tell us how it started?" or shorter "Tlr, why?" would be much much better.

You should work for AmTrak. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
