Who wants to put me up for the weekend? I don't have cable, and the Beeb aren't going to screen The Academy Awards this year.

Anyone got Sky?

Oscars? I prefer the Felix awards. They're so much neater and refined than those sloppy Oscars. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

I'm only joking. Actually, I wouldn't bother...

So in UK they wont show (that is if you are in UK)? Local channel here will broadcast Oskars! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif (and I have an empty VHS cassette - 240min) http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/clown.gif

Anyone got Sky? Aww, look at him. He looks like a little mad dog waiting for the neighbour's cat. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/c-2.gif

Is there any website where we can watch the show? RealPlayer maybe?

Will AJ be a guest? Tlr- do you get ET? They always show everything...

Could someone record any possible interviews with AJ like last time? Please? I also don't get any channels that broadcast it. :(

its very bad to miss things you like i feel your pain!many times i loose programms in tv because our channels change their programms without a warning[you must be very patient to live in greece and we are not!lol!] so i found the best way!no more tv only pc and dvd moovies!
btw i dont like oscar nominations its boring and a little "fake" !

haha.. good ol' Radio5 :D
I keep hearing people complaing about not getting to watch them, but seriously

8/month for the basic Sky package, plus 4/month for the Movie Channels... The way I saw it 8months ago when I got back to the UK it turned out to be one heck of alot cheaper than NTL Cable.

And really can't beat over 200 channels for 12/month, hell I pay almost double that for a reasonably fast broadband.

Don't see what the big deal with them is though, I mean I'll kinda keep an eye on them for 'topics of chat' reasons, but really when it comes down to watching it for enjoyment, don't see much of a point.

Further more, who the heck decides who's good and who isn't. I've never figured this out, because it doesn't appear to be based on ticket sales or a public vote.. Then these actors/esses come on and get all weepy or whatever thanking 6million&1 people for the small lump of gold plated statue, that aparently has nothing to do with the public what so ever.

It all just seems like a huge Actor/ess ego boost ceremony to me. Giving them an excuse to act like pre-madona's for yet another year. :: shrugs ::

Are you ready for this. The Academy Awards are voted for by..... Academy members!

After you've picked yourself up off the floor from reading that shocking piece of information, you may still be wondering who academy members are. Answer: actors, actresses, writers, producers, editors, sound people, etc. etc. People in the industry.

thanks neteru for the info!
i alwayws believed that all this was fake ,but thats only comes from my experience and my "instict",i thought that it was impossible all this billion dollars commercial show to be 100% real!
now i have some facts but can you tell us more details about all this?

26-02-05, 22:27
You can find out about the Academy HERE (http://www.oscars.org/academy/index.html) Nikos.
