View Full Version : Windows XP Themes...
Does anyone know any cool themes? Not something childish or colourful, something... beautiful. With computer-technology beauty icons, like Crystal XP's beautiful icons... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif
I know Mark has good taste in those, any suggestion Mark? :D
Not sure if this is what you mean... but anyway here's what I have right now:
Downloaded it at xpthemes.com, it's called "M19 Dark Sun"
Hmmm, no. I like more grey-sky blue-white colours. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

Do you have to have Windows XP Professional to apply themes?
Yes! It's pretty. I'll consider it. Thanks! :D http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/hug.gif
Any more suggestions like that anyone?

You need Windows XP Olvidarse, home or professional. But you need to have a modified uxtheme.dll if you want to use unsigned themes and don't want to use and run the theme programs.

For the theme I linked to you'll need WindowBlinds (http://www.windowblinds.net/), for the skin in Mark's link you'll need Style XP (http://www.tgtsoft.com/download.php)
btw, WindowBlinds can also be used for Windows 2000, Windows ME and Windows 98.
EDIT - damn you, Neteru! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
EDIT2 - and Mark aswell! I'm too slow today http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif

OK Thanks, that's the kind I was talking about, gently beautiful.
LOL Wizz, but you pointed out something I didn't. You can use the themes on other OS's with the programs http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
Energizewb for WindowBlinds looks quite good!

For WindowBlinds: Airlock. It's the only one I like (until now). Click below for a pic.
I've just downloaded custom icon software from XPThemes, and it appears as an ordinary file, but it is actually .ip file. I can't launch the installation. Should I download and instal Style XP for that problem?
Anubis, is it a WindowBlinds theme? Depending on the category, you'll have to download the appropriate program.
If it is WindowBlinds, you need to get the program from here: http://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/
Only with this program you will be able to install the theme.

I'm not sure ELEN. here it is:
(The first one)
You need the program "IconPackager" to use those icons. LINK (http://www.stardock.com/products/iconpackager/)

Thank you THORN http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
Even with Windows Xp Home, I can still use themes? Oh wow, and to think I've been using the preset XP silver/olive colors for so long.
