View Full Version : Am I the oldest woman playing Tomb Raider?

I am so curious the ages of the people who play this wonderful series of games. When I go into the store to buy a game or a system, the salesperson always thinks it is for my grandchild and when I tell them it is for me - they actually chuckle and begin a conversation about how I started etc. I think it sooooo funny. Oh well, as they say, I guess you are only as old as you feel, right?

That's right teedoff http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif
I think it's great that you play these games. I hope that, like you, I will never lose the 'child within' that makes me love games so much.

I forgot to tell you that I am 63 - guess I was having a "mature moment" - LOL

Welcome to the forums teedoff! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

You are most welcome here and it is great to have diversity and people of all ages. I am 22 and I started playing the tomb raider games when the original came out for the Sega Saturn which is almost 10 years ago.

I am going to transfer this thread to the "general chat" section of the forums. There your thread will recieve much more attention.

Enjoy your stay with us! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/hug.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif

congatulations!welcome on board!
i am 45,in the beggining here i thought i was the older man in the forum, until someone wrote:i am 65 and i have plenty of time now to play games, can you help me please to finnish tr3?
so who is talking about ages!you give us courage!
BTW in greece young people love older people who plays games, and they always tell me how beautifull were the older games, they've missed!
They call me arhigo![ chief!leader, or something like that!lol]

Nothing wrong with playing games at any age.

Bravo for not playing Shuffleboard http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Age can be a limitation in some things, but not in Tomb Raider http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

as you said teedoff, i say all the time to my mum, you are as old as you feel. and "age ain't nothin but a number".

who cares how old you are and if you're playing video games or not! they're for everyone not a certain age limit... well except for the games not suitable for younger children.

http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif Good for you teedoff!

I'll be 50 by the time TR7 is released (hopefully not 51!) Some folks say that games waste alot of time, but it's your time, right?

If you enjoy it go for it!
I'm also always glad to see seniors who have the chutzpah to tackle computers.

Welcome aboard.

Hi teedoff http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/hug.gif

I can picture you taking the game controls of your grandchildren saying "excuse me, it's my turn now". And probably doing better than them. LOL

I am 29, going 30.

Thanks so much all of you - this is a great forum. Now I feel welcome here. Speaking of computers - I taught myself the computer just 6 months after my dear hubby and I retired about 7 years ago. He had a major stroke and I knew I would be spending a lot of time at home so I bought my first puter and began making my own soap (started a little business). I had to learn to draw my own logo on the puter and then make my stickers for my soap. God - did I learn - and what fun!!! Believe it or not now even my kids ask me some things about the puter. Retirement is wonderful and that is sooooo true - I do have time now to play and delve into things I would never have been able to before. God Bless.

Or wow, i love reading little stories like this.

Very nice to meet / speak to youand welcome to the forum.

Sorry to hear about your husband and hope the business goes ok.

You should PM some images, custom made soap could be quite a good gift for some friends i know. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

Oh gosh you guys - you are tooooo wonderful. I didnt say that to sell soap. It's just something else I have learned to love. Hubby is doing so much better - he's even back on the golf course - not playing like he used to but playing none the less. I hope you are all having fun when you retire otherwise why retire right?

Your very welcome, i know you never said it to sell soap. But i m sure many people would be interested. I know i would be, some of my friends really would like them as a gift.

Im not that old either, im only 16, 17 in 15 days! WOO!

I think the older generation playing games is cool! I wish my parents would take more intrest, my dad just complains, i mean once i was playing on TR2 in Venice, and he stood there complaining about how it looked nothing like Venice, i was like you are too picky mate.

But yea, Welcome again, i know you will have alot of fun in this forum! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Hi teedoff glad to see another oldie on here. I'm a 53 woman and I've been playing the TR games for about 5 years. Like you I am basically self tought on the computer although I did Data Entry for many years it is definately the same as using a PC. I also have a little side business in that I make a Lorikeet Mix (lorikeets do not eat seed they eat pollen and nectar). I have designed my own labels, business cards and invoices. I'm also a pensioner. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

Nope no level editor games mostly cause I dont know how. I play only on the PS2 not on the puter. Looking forward to the PS3 - gonna be the first in line at Wally World to get it. (LOL)
SpARky - as far as the soap goes I don't want to use this forum as a means of selling soap - I hope you understand and thanks so much for the vote of confidence. So far it looks like I am the oldest Tombraider - waiting to see if anyone is older than me (LOL)

The diversity in this forum is so incredible that it surpasses all differences regardless of ages, race, etc. I love the warm feeling about this forums. I love you teedoff and all the people from this forum. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/hug.gif

Hi teedoff http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif
Nice to meet you. I am "only" 49 and love TR games.
Atm I am playing custom made levels and some of them are really brilliant.
Don't worry if you don't have the "know how".
I am just the same and so far there was always a nice member (or two, or more) to answer my technical questions and - if necessary - guide me through the process step by step. All you have to do is ask nicely.
This really is a great forum, enjoy your stay.

Welcome Teedoff! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

You should really enjoy TR now. Kids, Teens, and Elderly people have the most time to play games. Adults are occupied with work, or college, and have to worry about their taxes. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif
