Timberlake apology for Janet Jackson boob

Justin Timberlake has apologised after ripping off Janet Jackson's top and exposing her right breast at the end of her live Super Bowl half time performance.
Timberlake reached across Jackson's leather gladiator outfit and pulled off the covering to her right breast, revealing a silver tassle covering her nipple.
After the incident, which was watched by around 140 million viewers around the world, Timberlake stated he did not intend to expose Jackson's breast in the dance routine.
"I am sorry that anyone was offended by the wardrobe malfunction during the halftime performance of the Super Bowl," Timberlake said in a statement. "It was not intentional and is regrettable."
"I don't think the Super Bowl has ever seen a performance like this," Jackson's choreographer, Gil Duldulao, was quoted as saying. "There are some shocking moments in there...She's doing her job well."
TV network spokeswoman LeslieAnne Wade said: "CBS deeply regrets the incident." She added that CBS officials attended rehearsals of the half time show all week, "and there was no indication any such thing would happen".
The Super Bowl half time show, which also featured P Diddy, Nelly and Kid Rock, was produced by MTV.
Joe Browne, NFL executive vice president, said it was "unlikely" MTV will produce another Super Bowl halftime.
MTV said the incident was "unrehearsed, unplanned, completely unintentional."

OMG I just turned on the TV and the first thing I see as I'm taking in a huge gulp of milk is Justin Timberlake reaching across Janets chest in some type of mood and poof the boob is exposed  I just about did the typical spray action with all that milk. And I thought it was part of the show-kindo of like Britney and Madonnas' thing that happened like so five minutes ago  Maybe this is Justins' way at getting back at Britney...'real smooth' as Justin on the forums said lol.

Capt Murphy: hehehehe that WOULD be so funny! Imagine all the shocked faces!

On the news last night they said over 100 people called HPD (houston police) to try and get Janet arrested for public nudity or whatever. They are so stupid, she had a pasty on, and if I'm not mistaken Lil'Kim did this at an award show and they did not block it out for the entire show. I think people just need to get a grip on reality, those same people who complained about it, probably have X-Rated channels and everything else attached to their cable service  It's not like you could see anything either. It was so quick, if you weren't watching you would have missed it. I want to know if it was warranted by Janet. It was probably something like the Britney & Madonna kiss, I think they decided to do that right before they got on stage.

Capt. Murphy
02-02-04, 17:03
First of all, why would she have the pasty on there in the first place? You really gotta wonder. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/privateeye.gif Unless, it was actually.... planned. Yep, I think it was. Then they (Justin and Janet) act like "Oh, it was a mistake." yeah right.

"Janet was jumping the shark"* (that's a Happy Day's reference) because she hasn't had a hit in years and this was obviously a publicity stunt.

It's just some boobage. stupid stunt, but nothing traumatic I pretty much suspect it was a publicity stunt considering miss booby-la-la has a new album coming out the end of March-what a coinky-dink!

When the biggest thing in our day is a flash of naked breast, our lives are pretty darn good.

That was the worst halftime show I have ever seen in my life! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yuck.gif Although that was the best Superbowl game I have ever seen lol. My brother is a Patriots fan, so at the end of that game we were all SO nervous when Adam V. kicked that field go. The hero yet again. Woohoo, go Pats!

If they were wise they would have gave Janet the National Anthem, and let Beyonce have the Half-Time show.

02-02-04, 17:47
It was not a pasty, It's a nipple (can I even use that word on here?) shield which is held in place by the barbell from her piercing which is in front of it...It's very Gladiator-esque. Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!!!

I agree Justin, they didn't do a good job choosing the singers. Football is supposed to be hard core and pop music just doesn't work. They should have had some rock groups like Nickelback, Bon Jovi, Linkin Park, or some one else out there. There are loads of great bands and singers out there, and they should have used them.

Basically, it's not about any music, and if they happen to have a half time show it should be whatever will bring in the ratings, such as big stars that will appeal to younger fans (minus the boobage and such).

This isn't the first time I've seen something this risque on CBS (although I didn't see the Janet Jackson "mishap" http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/privateeye.gif ). The first time was one year they aired a Miss Universe pageant. It wasn't any of the contestants that was... exposed. It was a judge. A female judge. She was wearing a black blouse or something. It had black velvet sleeves and covered her arms and shoulers. But the middle part was black See-Thru. And her uh, 'nits' were definetly showing. Yet, that did not get censored. I don't think anyone at CBS even noticed. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/privateeye.gif Then again - it was live. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif

"Oh it's just a boob. What's the big deal. Uptight Americans." Ever heard of these?

modesty (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=Modesty)

Decency (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=decency)

And the most uptight of them all.... Ooooh! The 'M' word. (http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=morality) *Booo! - hissss*

:D http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

I would like to say something to those who think this was nothing to be concerned about. This was the Super-Bowl. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/sleepy.gif I suppose making the arguement that children could be (or) are watching wouldn't do any good. That would be pointless - since some of you obviously don't give a c*ap what happens to young impressionable minds. The worse thing we could've seen (or should've seen - given what happened) was a player getting injured on the field. I mean seriously. That's the most you should expect. -Right? I'm really surprised that Janet would bring such shame to the Jackson name by doing this. 'Cause (I guess) whatever innocent children might be exposed to don't mean a thing.

It did happen during a family program, but people are acting as if they showed a clip from some sort of porno or something.
I was watching the Superbowl on cable ( just because i was bored ) with my cousin who is 6, when Janet's breast came flying out my little cousin started giggling and she just looked at me like "He he he a booby".
She asked me why she did that i said "Well, i dont think it was supposed to happen, it's just her booby" and then we just laughed.
I hardly think my cousins eye's were going to burn off because her innocence was destroyed by seeing a breast.

I agree with the Capt. as well. Like I said there is a time and a place for boobs lol and exposing yourself in such a way as Janet did shows a lack of decency, she didn't care about her effect on people and society. I believe it was all greed and shelfishness that drove her to such an act. On the other hand nudity is not a bad thing-look at some very beautiful art and you will see. I guess it depends if it is tastefully done, that's what counts-that and the context in which it is used...Is pop becoming some sex-crazed generation of pushing the limits  . I dislike pop now that it has lost so much moral (no offence)

Hey what does anyone think of a mother nursing her child in public? Honestly it sort of makes me uncomfortable if it too obvious.

There was a social stigma placed on publicly nursing to the point that it was actually preferable to use artificial nutrient supplements for newborns...

There is nothing 'wrong' with it, anymore than it is wrong to teach your child how to read...

It's a social stigma is all...

Laws even got passed in some places about it...

I personally blame the ultra conservative religious core our laws and social standards are based on...

But to get perspective, it's quite a bit worse in the Middle East...

Rogue http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/privateeye.gif I dont have a problem with it, i can understand if some people do though.
My friend doesnt agree with it fully, not because she's agaisnt the actual act of breast feeding, she just finds it a bit unattractive and doesnt want to be looking at it while she's outside shopping.
But then again, who said she had to look.
I dont have kids and dont really want any, but if i did, i would feel uncomfortable doing in front of a public place, but that's just my problem, if someone else is comfortable with it, then who really cares. Who knows maybe i would be comfortable with it if i did it myself, i dont know.

It doesnt bother me, we just charge corkage at work. :D

I was just saying that Americans should be upthight about that kind of stuff because there are children. I know children won't become dramatized after seeing a breast for 2 seconds during the Super Bowl, but when it's constantly exposed, then maybe.

Instead of worrying about the affects of a child seeing a breast for 2 seconds, maybe you guys should worry about the rest of your culture which is not just affecting your children, but killing them.

Do those cultures intend the nudity to be sexual? The nudity I see here in the US are sexual, that's where my problem is.

(In real life, I care very little about this subject, but debating is a fun thing to do sometimes  )

Casual and Sexual nudity are treated the same, so making a distinction is redundant...
