Level ll bugs are bugging me

How can I get around the scarabs, so that I can activate the 3 doors? I have the flaming torch, which keeps them away, but to action the doors, it drops and then they kill me, I can't shoot them, and I've tried dropping flares. What's the secret to getting rid of those little buggers? I don't want to cheat the level (Lara wouldn't do that..)

Well basically this bit is easier than it looks...
Forget about the torch and flame e.t.c. they keep the bugs away for a while but not in certain areas... http://www.metropolitan-internet.net/tlrboard/frown.gif

Just run towards the holes in the doors to activate upstairs and you should be alright. http://www.metropolitan-internet.net/tlrboard/wink.gif
Dont bother sprinting to the doors there's no point you'll make it in time. Trust me! Also make sure you know the hot keys for large and small medi-paks (i think it's 9 and 0) http://www.metropolitan-internet.net/tlrboard/cool.gif You need to be able to get to them quickly just incase Lara's health starts to fade...
Don't worry about this bit it's actually quite easy believe it or not!

Also..after you activate the switch inside the hole, to be faster you should roll to turn around. If you just turn around the usual way the beetles will take more life away from Lara.

thanx guys for your replies. A bit confused though, chick-pea? you say that I only have to run towards the door to action for upstairs, and jenna282 says to actually activate the switches, which is the case? anyways I'll give em all a go and see what happens. Cheers!

No no, you have to activate the holes. Sprint and roll to move qicker. Running round the block also helps to draw the beetles away from the hole you want to go to next. Good luck!
