I saw this movie yesterday on video. It is a parody, but still very realistically made: normal spiders grown 100* times in size. When they are that big, they treat humans like insects. Creepy! :D It ends well for the people: they all get destroyed (the spiders).

[*edit: correction, at least 1000 times. ;) ]

OMG NO! I've seen a horror movie with 1 giant spider and I was so creeped out. Spiders look like aliens or something. Just too many eyes and legs!

VERY useful. That's why i always feel bad when i accidently kill one.
When vacuumcleaning, i always go carefully around them, or first make them move away.
They eat the really hateful insects and ugly creeping creatures, so i consider the spiders friends in the house. They never do me any wrong. That is, here in Netherlands, in our climate.
Don't start again on their (sub)tropical familymembers who really can be dangerous! But those are not the ones Thorn was talking about. Plain, normal house-spiders. Friends. :D

My friend told me some interesting things about them. She said that one ime she caught a spider. She put it in the freezer and a day later took it out. She then dropped it and it smashed into pieces.
Another friend of mine finds it entertaining to burn spiders. He said that they scream.

Thse poor things barely have blood, putting them in the feezer isn't a good idea at all

I don't think I've ever felt sorry for an insect before like now.

I remember a while back, I was at my grand-parents house and I put on this coat that had been in the cupboard for god-knows-how-long. Only after I had put it on did I realise that there was a massive hairy spider crawling UP the sleeve, right towards my face! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif I screamed soo much, I cried. I was so embarrassed, everybody laughed at me. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif

it wasn't stupid at all, just a basis fact showing that when people panic from a phobia over something a reaction they have can be an unintentional burst of violence.

typical that it gets edited out.. nice to see moderators peeing all over free-speech.

Another friend of mine finds it entertaining to burn spiders. He said that they scream. How on earth could any rational person find it 'entertaining' to burn any animal. Of course it would scream - wouldn't you? http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/cwm/3dlil/mad.gif

Maybe this person should be lock in a freezer with some spiders - I'm sure they would enjoy the body heat.

I know some of you feel angry about torture to spiders etc. I just want you all to know that I wouldn't ever do that. It's just that I have a very bad phobia of them and can't stand noticing them. So I have to urgently get rid of them. Sorry.

I got a bit of a spider story that happened about 3 weeks ago...
I was goin to bed this night and turned off the light in me room, tried to get to sleep but I got thirsty as I usually do and so I reached over the side of me bed for my glass of water. Sat up started drinking, noticed something brush my lip so then I turned on the light and discoverd a huntsman spider floating upside down in my glass. It couldn't fit propoerly so its legs were pointing upwards in the glass. It had drowned lol. It freaked me out a bit, but thats what I get for sleeping with my window always open.

...a voice from the darkness.....

I don't like spiders either, but I rather fear from bees and wasps/stingers..actually, they even can kill me, if they sting me on my neck, what may cause drowning... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif However I would never kill any of them. Earlier in my past, I did, but I was weak that time, and now I'm completely against taking lives for a long while, and every lives matters for me...

Therefore I found out a nice and easy method to take these little freaks out of my room with no problem... I suggest this to anyone: at least You should definitely try it. Again, these are just poor animals, and they fear much more from You than You from them! Imagine how You'd feel if a let's say 30m tall guy wanted to step on You?! (I got this feeling when Daniel was battling with NecroGiant in PainKiller..LOL! :D )

So, here's the method, simply and shortly, and how my limited English allows... You need a bottle and a paper, a "hard paper" (like postcards, they work very well), if possible. And I mean a bottle with a wide opening, I don't know the phrase for it, but I don't mean a beer-bottle here, but something with a much wider opening..I think You understand me, LOL... It works even when the insect/spider is on the ground or on the window-glass/curtain...

1. First You have to trap it with the bottle, what is a quite easy and safe (wide opening means larger trap-area) thing...
2. Then You have to be careful: carefully and slowly slide the paper under the bottle, so the insect/spider will trap in the bottle what will be closed with the paper (and not with the ground/glass/curtain). You have to open the closed area just a very little bit, but naturally the insect/spider still won't be able to leave its prison, since the opening is just as "thick" (rather thin) as the paper is...
3. Carefully grab and bring the whole thing out of the house (since You have two arms, that really can't cause problems http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif ), and put it down onto the ground. Now go away and topple the bottle from a safe distance (even with a broom, if You want, LOL - as I often did)...
4. The insect/spider will be free and it will fly/creep away in a short moment...

And that's it! It couldn't harm You, and You even saved an animal-life (what is actually a nice and humane thing, I think anyone agrees), instead of killing the poor little! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/thumb.gif I've been using this method for many years, and I've never had any problems (and I really do hate and fear stingers and such like creatures what have stings and can sting me :D ) with it... I hope my overexplained "guide" was more or less understandable and more animals will live in the future, instead of being dead just because they were at the bad place at the bad time... http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
