It is supposed to be summer here. It should be nice, sunny and warm. http://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/natur/nature-smiley-008.gif

Current outside temperature: 11 degrees Celsius. I have just put the heating on...... :(

I'm so glad it's cooled down a bit. I hate the hot weather.

Well, I don't need it to be tropical either. But a nice, moderate 20+ degrees celsius and a bit of sunshine would be nice.

It can get even hotter; last week it reached 40 degrees  And sometimes it gets even more: 42 or 44, although we didn't have such an extremity so far this year http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/whistle.gif

I wish it was hotter here... it is meant to be summer.
At the moment it's cloudy, cold and has been raining. :(
It's not even meant to get that much better by the end of the week. And I've just started my holidays

Hey Gabi, I'm just down the road from you! Yes it is rather dismal out there right now - but the ground's been begging for rain these past few weeks. Did anyone see the Moto GP at Donington yesterday? http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif Only eleven bikes made the finish it was raining sooo hard. Rossi, of course, finished in style - playing the violin as he crossed the finish line http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/vlol.gif http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/vlol.gif . If we could have long days of warm sun (max 25-27 Celsius) and some gentle rain at night to keep the gardens happy, that'll be perfect :D

I was thinking that too last night. I was coming home from work and it was really dark, was not too long ago that I came home in the light!

Winter is definitely on its way

Oh, it is depressing. I am sitting here with a big cardi over my T-shirt and the heating on, trying to warm up a bit.
But then: it can only get better. :D
And yes, the garden needed some rain.
Right now I am thinking where to go for our holiday in Oct.. Somewhere nice, warm and sunny, that's for sure.

Greenkey2, where exactly are you, if you don't mind me asking?
And yes, I saw the bikes sliding and slipping along the course

Gabi. Are you anywhere near Pride Park?

Gabi
25-07-05, 15:19
That depends on what you classify as "near".

It's about a 15 min. drive. :D

LINKY (http://www.bbc.co.uk/derby/in_pictures/360_panoramas/pride_park_stadium/index.shtml) (I hope it's not a hot link - I still don't quite understand the difference http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/redface.gif )

What is on, anyway? Fancy a cuppa? :D

Hiya Gabi! Sorry it took so long. I'm just outside Mansfield, which is about four/five miles from the M1 Juntion 27 near Chesterfield. If you look on the Ordinance Survey map I'm pretty much on the S of Sherwood Forest (I think :D )

Hiya Gabi

I know what you mean about the weather round here the over the weekend. I was watching the MotoGP at Donnington on the telly, and was amazed how many managed to stay on given the weather conditions (Rossi had a great ride though as Greenkey2 says :D ) . Plus last night I had to help a friend of mine who's roof had started leaking because of the rain...roll on the return of Summer http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Be thankful you're not living through a heatwave! Humid and hot, with an air quality index ranging from 100-150... on average. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/mischievous.gif

Hiya Gabi http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

I'm in one of the newer parts of Sinfin http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif ...it's quite nice here as you dont have to walk/drive far to get into the country side :D

Hi Dave http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

It's the same at this end: a couple of minutes walk (or drive) and you are in the countryside. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif It is fairly quiet, but only about 10 minutes drive into town (should you have the urge to go there  ).

Btw.: 13 degrees celsius at the moment http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/jumper.gif

Hiya Gabi

It's still looking a little grim outside though...hopefully the rain will hold off as I need to give the car a polish :D .

I've not been into the town centre of a while, but I know they're doing allot of building work, expanding the eagle centre. Went to the SEAT garage on friday with a friend of mine (a brand new car and he's having to have bits glued back on already http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/vlol.gif ...but that's another story) and had a sad look at Core Design on pride park...wishing Lara was still here. I've recently graudated, so I'm sending Core my CV...you never know I guess http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

Oh btw Greenkey2, do you know where Sheerwood Park is off Junction 27 on the M1? I used to do that drive every day from Derby when I was working for a firm during my placement year http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

TheStig (Dave) http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif What do you do jobwise? And good luck with Core.

I have not been to the Eagle Centre recently. Mind you, I am not a fan of shopping (window- or for real), but I find the prices they charge for parking your car outrageous and out of principle am not willing to pay that amount of money. If I really need to go, I sometimes nip in after work (it's on my way) and try to park somewhere for free. But it's not easy to find spaces close to the City centre  .

Greenkey2, I can't say I have ever been to Mansfield, but I know where it is. Not far from here indeed. http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/wave.gif

Hello again :D . I never thought there'd be many people on the forum living this close! I know of Sherwood Park, but have never been there. I'm in between courses for my university degree at the moment and have been (and am planning) several short hops to geological sites around here. I went to the Blue John caves a few weeks ago (and nearly scuppered my legs climbing back up:P). We have really cool rocks around here! http://www.tombraiderforums.com/images/smilies/clown.gif Hope the weather improves soon; it's miserable climbing around quarries in the rain  . Nottingham is closer, but I'm all for Derby - THE home of Lara!
